So far it’s the best first season of any Trek since…Lower Decks.
I'd say that Prodigy has had a really good one so far.

The "wrest" of my post? What's "wrest?"They didn't get married, she just did the official proposal.
As for the wrest your post, it's conspiracy theory nonsense.
Just be advised. I am not afraid of trolls. They didn't get married, she just did the official proposal.

Heh .. Perhaps it was an attempt to 'wrest' you into believing otherwise? The "wrest" of my post? What's "wrest?"
When I watch it on my PC it gives me a skip option, but not on the P+ Roku app. Go figure.if i have one criticism of this show its the opening "previously on" sequence. Do we really need recaps.. at least give us the option to skip it
yea i watch on xbox one x and i dont ever see skip options unless im missing it.When I watch it on my PC it gives me a skip option, but not on the P+ Roku app. Go figure.
Why does Discovery get more episodes than Strange New World’s?
Also, why did Strange New World’s only get a one hour long pilot episode when all of the other series got a two hour pilot?
But if Paramount+ only has Star Trek to offer as a selling point which has quite a niche following, if they don’t have anything else to offer other people they aren’t going to get many subscribers are they. There aren’t exactly loads of Star Trek fans in the world… I mean, I don’t actually know any Star Trek fans in the real world, just here on TrekBBS.
Paramount+ can not be maintained financially by TrekBBS users alone.
I have a friend who picked up CBSAA/Paramount+ because she's a huge fan of the NCIS series. In addition to everyone pointing out that the co-production deal with Netflix probably stipulated a certain number of episodes for DIS, I think the other thing to bear in mind is that DIS was a proven, successful show when S4 was commissioned, while SNW was not yet a proven success when S1 was ordered.
I don't think the TNG, DS9, VOY, or ENT pilots were even considerations when Paramount ordered SNW. Also, PIC only had an hour-long pilot and a 10-episode first season.
While I agree that hard-core Trekkies are not a sufficiently large audience to carry the entire streaming service, it does seem that the streaming TV market is so crowded that Star Trek was able to serve as the cornerstone for CBS All-Access/Paramount+ in its first few years. Audiences can be a lot smaller today for a successful show than they could in the mid-2000s.
And nowadays, Paramount+ has one of the most popular shows on television Yellowstone. It also has The Good Fight, 1883, Halo, the iCarly revival, a lot of reality TV shows, a lot of sports programming, and a lot of the Viacom film and TV archive.

That would be my first reason.I have a friend who picked up CBSAA/Paramount+ because she's a huge fan of the NCIS series.
Just finished watching 1883. Amazing show with some refreshingly profound philosophical analyses on civilization vs. the wild. Rough ending, though. Going to take on Yellowstone next, but for some odd reason it doesn’t seem to be available on P+.
Basically the only reason I got Paramount+ was for NCIS. It's ironic, for the previous few years I was constantly slagging off the Canadian Paramount+ outlet for being really pointless as all the Paramount+ original content was available via other means in Canada. The Star Treks are on a cable channel, as is The Good Fight. The Stand is on the Canadian Amazon Prime. And yet, last year as I started getting into NCIS, I realized the most convenient way to watch the series from beginning to current season was to get the Canadian Paramount+, so here I am now.I have a friend who picked up CBSAA/Paramount+ because she's a huge fan of the NCIS series.
Well how about this, it’s my favorite first five episodes of any trek. And I would put any season of modern trek over seasons 1 or 2 of TNG without batting an eye.Wellz the trek in the first few years of this century really, reaaaallllllyyy sucked and practically killed the franchise for quite awhile so that's kinda faint praise
