So just watched this episode and Jesus Christ that was painful. What the hell have the writers been smoking this season.

* Being turned into a Vulcan wouldn't give you either logic or control over emotions. That is a learnt state and Vulcans have emotions as a matter of biology.

* Why would Pike's hair or any of there hair change like that?

* Vulcans are pretty xenophobic and racist arseholes but it was way over played.

* All the actors were doing charactercures of Vulcans because they do not speak that god dam slow. It was like watching a group of TOS Shatner impersonations.

* As if Starfleet wouldn't have just ordered there reversion because they were turned into Vulcans, they are not Vulcans. Never mind leave Pike in command of a god dam Starship during this.

* La'An does not have augmented abilities otherwise she would be banned from Starfleet. The making her a Romulan thing doesn't make any sense but her not being able to control emotions does since again Logic is not a genetic trait.

* The dance bit at the end with Spock was the most cringey AF moment in all of Star Trek. Seriously these writers need firing!

* Why does no one follow any sort of procedure - She's trying to start a war - Call security would be a start.

The writers clearly no very little about Vulcans.

The only good bit of the episode was Doug :rommie:

And turning Spock fully human shouldn't make him loose all his emotional control and devotion to logic, yet the Kervorkian procedure did.

Because it's fun. The Kervokians move in mysterious ways. Spock's hair changed in Charades too.

Pretty sure that was the point. Each of the "Vulcans" were exaggerations of some negative Vulcan traits.

Starfleet interferes when the plot demands it.

I don't think we were supposed to take the Romulan thing as fact. It was just "logical" for La'An and Pike to assume it. Vulcans can be very ruthless when they want to. Especially when coupled with their sense of superiority,

It was quite lovely.

I'd say they do, They nailed every Vulcan "stereotype." and went to 11.

Doug was fun, as atypical Vulcans tend to be.

Doug saved the episode, but the stuff with Una was silly. But hey, Patton got to kiss Rebecca R.
