I will walk over your wet, hose-sprayed corpse.
Ummm .. not my history books.
Mine indicate that he is the spitting image of Ricardo Montalban.

You must be channeling an alternate universe. :p

Richard Montalban was playing Khan's good friend John Harrison. They had a Parent Trap situation and switched bodies. In Prime Universe Harrison was stuck in Khan's original body and pretended to be Khan when Khan died, years earlier. In Kelvin Universe Khan was stuck in Harrison's body when Khan died years earlier and pretended to be Harrison, until exposed.

Spock is the best part of the show, really. I find that when I think of Spock or Uhura or Chapel now - the legacy characters - I think of these versions and actors. Pike, well, goes without saying.

Kirk's good so far.

I feel that way about Una,Pike,April,T'Pring and Chapel but not the rest. Uhura is close though.

I'd like to see more out of Una for the rest of the season. It seems like once they did her Illyrian plotline, they haven't really had any interest in giving her any greater time in the sun.

I agree. IMO I think they also need to start setting up the exits for some of these characters if they are going to still go with the idea this is the Prime timeline. I would love to see her become a Captain of her own ship but you know. I could also see her going back to teach at the Academy.

They have two and a half seasons left. No need to rush things.

Khan always looked like Naveen Andrews. In the Kelvin Timeline, Marcus woke up Khan and surgically altered him into Cumberbatch as seen in that IDW comic. In the Prime Timeline, Marcus woke up Khan and was going to do the same thing as his Kelvin counterpart, then realized what a ridiculous idea it was and stopped the process (with Khan's surgical reconstruction going partway to make him look like Montalban) then put Khan back to sleep for Kirk to find.

Marcus then altered the archival photos of Khan with some AI generated imagery resembling the Montalban he now looked like, resulting in the photo shown in Space Seed, just in case anyone woke up Khan and noticed the difference.

So far this season, we've had a ton of Spock, Chapel, La'an, and M'benga. Una's been largely absent, other than XOing it a few times. Pike's been irrelevant except when it comes to Batel. Ortegas had a hint of something interesting, and has faded back into the background.

I don't expect Pelia to be anything more than a supporting character, but she seems to (similar to Reno) just wander in, say a few lines, and then wander off. sometimes with Scotty in tow.

"It's important to have a posting that makes a difference ensigns. That's why I manually masturbate Mugato's for artificial insemination."

They sound finickier about mating than pandas. But they don't have their genitalia on top of their heads like the mugato does. We don't know that thing was a horn for sure 😁

When I think of Spock, Uhura or Chapel I think of the original Actors. They appeared in more episodes and film. They are the OG and always will be. This mini series won't ever reach the status of TOS or it's actors. 😀

Granted, I haven't watched a lot of TOS in the past few years. But for me, there is no reason that we can't have both and we can't think of both when thinking of their roles. Or even the Kelvin crew. Yes, the original cast is iconic and what will be typically thought of by society when it comes to Star Trek, but both the Kelvin and SNW casts have done an admirable job, in my opinion.

It does become interesting in comic books. Sometimes I have noticed the artist try and combine the two different versions together in how they drawl them.

I tend to think of Uhura, Sulu, and Chekov as being genetically different people between timelines as Uhura and Chekov at least have seemingly different birth years (unless the bar age is different in the Kelvin timeline than the real world for Uhura) and Sulu is gay in one timeline but seemingly straight in another (had an illusionary girlfriend in TAS, was drooling over Ilia in at least one version of TMP. To be fair bisexuality is also possible). Also, unlike the other TOS characters, these 3 are seemingly born after the 2233 divergence point (confirmed at least with Uhura and Chekov anyway, I don't think Sulu has a canonical birth year yet)
