Parrot Analytics' "Demand Expressions" is a completely useless metric.
Thanks, I didn't catch that!I loved how they added the TOS corridor and wall commpanels to the Peregrine in the Gorn episode. Except for the little screen readout instead of the blinking light it's practically an exact copy of the TOS design.
Where? That's how the corridor looks like there...I loved how they added the TOS corridor and wall commpanels to the Peregrine in the Gorn episode. Except for the little screen readout instead of the blinking light it's practically an exact copy of the TOS design.
I think it's safe to say that most of us care more about star charts than ratings charts."demand"
Parrot Analytics' "Demand Expressions" is a completely useless metric.
Let's debunk Parrot Analytics and their "Demand Expressions" once and for all.
In the week of June 20-26, 2022, "The Umbrella Academy" and "Stranger Things" had the same amount of minutes watched.

These are the "Demand Expressions" for "The Umbrella Academy", "Stranger Things" and "The Boys" according to Parrot Analytics.

"Stranger Things" has a 196.5x higher "Demand Expressions" than the average IP.
"The Umbrella Academy" only has 19.4x higher "Demand Expressions" than the average IP.
The "demand" for "Stranger Things", according to Parrot Analytics, is literally 10x higher than for "The Umbrella Academy", but the watch time is almost the same.
The "demand" for "The Boys" (45.7x), according to Parrot Analytics, is more than double the demand for "The Umbrella Academy", but the watch time for "The Umbrella Academy" is more than 3x higher.
Parrot Analytics' "Demand Expressions" data doesn't line up with reality.
What people are watching doesn't match with what Parrot Analytics is saying people are "demanding".
About that RT score...
Did you look at how many people voted for SNW?
![]()
It is slightly higher than the number of people that voted for Discovery season 4 but on the same level as Picard season 2.
Votes for NuTrek shows have stabilized at a low level, but these are not numbers of a smash hit show, especially when you look at how NuTrek started.
The speaker panel was always a screen. We just saw the screensaver on TOS.Pike accesses it after they first enter the ship through the airlock hatch. And actually, it does have the blinking light like in TOS. The speaker panel is what's missing.

Oh you mean just the comm panel, not the corridor, okPike accesses it after they first enter the ship through the airlock hatch. And actually, it does have the blinking light like in TOS. The speaker panel is what's missing.

Never got a submarine is space vibe from the TOS sets. A lot of high ceilings and wide corridors. Good sized doors. Rooms were a decent size. Walls were mostly clean with an occasional pipe or widget. The minuses for me are all about the expansive feel to the sets. It doesn't feel like a submarine in space like it did in TOS. Everything just feels bigger inside and everyone feels fine beaming all over the ship. It's more restrained than Discovery was but it still feels a bit too free with the technology.
Indeed, it had a more office feel to it, outside of the bridge and private quarters at any rate. The quarters were groovy.Never got a submarine is space vibe from the TOS sets. Capt. Lumbergh: Hello ensign, what's happening? Ummm, I'm gonna need you to go ahead come in tomorrow. So if you could be here around 9 that would be great, mmmk... oh oh! and I almost forgot ahh, I'm also gonna need you to go ahead and come in on Sunday too, kay. We ahh lost some people this week and ah, we sorta need to play catch up.Indeed, it had a more office feel to it, outside of the bridge and private quarters at any rate. The quarters were groovy.
Maybe! I guess years of watching it on a portable black nd white TV must have skewed my perception, but sickbay and the CMO office look huge. Presumably we usually saw the treatment room rather than the ward. TMP and TWOK showed how big they were.Never got a submarine is space vibe from the TOS sets. While I wouldn't say "submarine in space" the impression I got from TOS is that the Enterprise was meant to be a rather utilitarian environment, which I will admit SNW doesn't really convey. I personally find the quarters are too huge. Admittedly, when designing the sets they probably were thinking "this is the flagship, it should be expansive and have some oomph" and with that mentality, yes, the sets make perfect sense. Though if I were trying to copy the utilitarian environment of TOS I'd have probably made Pike's quarters something the size of the quarters we saw Uhura sharing with her roommates, and make everyone else's smaller.Never got a submarine is space vibe from the TOS sets.
