The minuses for me are all about the expansive feel to the sets. It doesn't feel like a submarine in space like it did in TOS. Everything just feels bigger inside and everyone feels fine beaming all over the ship. It's more restrained than Discovery was but it still feels a bit too free with the technology.
While I wouldn't say "submarine in space" the impression I got from TOS is that the Enterprise was meant to be a rather utilitarian environment, which I will admit SNW doesn't really convey. I personally find the quarters are too huge. Admittedly, when designing the sets they probably were thinking "this is the flagship, it should be expansive and have some oomph" and with that mentality, yes, the sets make perfect sense. Though if I were trying to copy the utilitarian environment of TOS I'd have probably made Pike's quarters something the size of the quarters we saw Uhura sharing with her roommates, and make everyone else's smaller.Never got a submarine is space vibe from the TOS sets.
But no one woke me up in the middle of the night for an opinion on how to build the sets.
