Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 4x02 - "The Griffin Incident"
Is this scene from a foreign dub translation? Because that exchange does not appear in the original transmitted American version of the episode.
In the U.S., the mention of Sam and his three sons is part of an exchange between Kirk and his android duplicate and the dialogue runs thusly:
KIRK: What about memory? Tell me about Sam.
Android KIRK: George Samuel Kirk. - your brother. Only you call him Sam.
KIRK: He saw me off on this mission.
Android KIRK: Yes, with his wife and three sons.
That's it. That's the only mention of Sam and his sons in the transmitted episode. Ruk's not involved in the conversation. No mention of school days or psychological tests or asking about the oldest boy's middle name.
So Division 12 is StarFleet's equivalent of the X-Files?

So Kirk was a Boy Scout. Canon ruined. SNW is clearly in another universe. 
Joking aside I liked the episode. I mean it does feel like something we have seen done before many times in Trek but was still fun. The nice character stuff really pushed it past the cliches.
Division 12 also almost sounds like the setup for a spin-off show we will never get. Also I am confused. Are we suppose to think ghosts are real now? Or was the Starfleet lady a "ghost" in the same way Beverly's special candle lover was a "ghost?"

I've been wary about this one since I have a fairly low tolerance for gore and a lot of the preview indicated it being a horror episode, with some hints of gore/body horror. (A few existing episodes of Trek go past my limits, including some of the stuff in the zombie episode last year.)
But Paramount+ lists it as TV-PG without any modifiers, so now I'm just confused

And Amazon lists it as TV-MA, though it listed the dinosaur one as TV-MA too for some reason.
If anyone feels inclined to give clearer content warnings I wouldn't mind the spoilers, which works out seeing as this is a spoiler thread.

It looks like it could be an AI hallucination as to the script, maybe from the Gemini answer to a Google inquiry.
I found this episode a little boring. For horror to work for me, I have to believe the characters can die, and when Kirk and Spock are two of the three on the landing party, then I already know going in that most, if not all, will get out alive. If they had put Una, Ortegas, and La'An on the boarding party I might've been more into it.
There were some blood and some gore, but nothing that unsettled a horror movie fan like me. It was nice seeing T'Pring again and I like how she represents logic to Spock and hopefully is a hint that he they are getting him away from sowing his oats. Even though I didn't like the Chapel-Spock relationship, I did like what looked like a twinge of envy on Chapel's face that Spock saw T'Pring and not her.
I don't care for this take on Kirk, but I will give the writer's this, that he didn't seem as shoehorned into this episode as I've felt he has been in the past.
As for La'An, they are really teasing a dark end for her. My suspicion is that they are going to give us a confounding one like they did with Pike's girlfriend last season.
Once Pike learned what that ship was doing to his crew, I am surprised that he just didn't vaporize it.
I found some encounters with the Borg and Species 8472 scarier than this, and the "Silent Enemy" aliens on ENT were creepier. Even the Vulcan zombie episode on ENT had more thrills.

Previously mentioned in "Terrarium", but there's no Memory Alpha article about them, presumably due to some sort of conspiracy/cover-up.

There's definitely more gore than I've seen in the older Trek shows. Fingers getting sliced off with a knife, ears getting cut with scissors, a character has their intestines pulled out by vacuum before dying.
There's some stabbing and cutting with knives too, but not really much more than previously seen on SNW. I would say the TV-MA rating would be correct.
