Sure.. next you'll tell 1+1 isn't three...And I repeat The Orville isn't Star Trek.

Sure.. next you'll tell 1+1 isn't three...And I repeat The Orville isn't Star Trek.
And I repeat The Orville isn't Star Trek.
Promise? The Orville folks could get into lots of trouble.
Orville isn't Star Trek.
Indeed. Any time that little nugget of dishonesty rears up I get a queasy gizzard.
I'm equally shocked at the lack of awareness of MASH quotes.I'm shocked by your pointless negativity. It's so unlike you.
Orville isn't even that good this season.
All of it is spot on, but especially the comment about the importance of “people that we know and like to hang out with.” That’s from this great interview with Variety, which includes minor spoilers for how they’re handling Kirk in season 2:

I disagree. I have loved every episode and it has maybe it's best ever episode as well. Strange New Worlds of course was good as well, also with no clunkers but not quite a good as The Orville just yet. Mount though is a way better actor than McFarlande.
Anyone have thoughts on why the showrunners decided to put Sam Kirk in this show? Was it all just for the fake out in the pilot episode (which was kind of spoiled by the leak/announcement that James would be appearing in season 2).
They don't seem to have any focus for him in season 1. He could have just been any old Lieutenant. Outside of Sam giving some info on James in "A Quality of Mercy", he doesn't do anything that needs him to be Kirk. And even then, they could have had any of the other non-Spock/non-Uhura characters serve with Kirk on an earlier ship to give the same "briefing" to Pike. And wouldn't you think that James's brother is going to give you a less-objective readout than practically anyone else - for good or for bad?
I guess it was just all for that one gag in episode 1...
...I’m always curious as to how many people that trash The Orville have actually watched more than one episode (if that). Or if they just immediately dismissed it “Family Guy Star Trek ripoff” and passed.
I very much prefer it to the first two seasons of Discovery.
I’ve always thought it was just for the gag. And for that kinda dumb scene with him and Pike in the finale.
Made it to episode 3 of Season 2. Thanks for askingwould still say SNW is better. But The Orville has been very good. I’m always curious as to how many people that trash The Orville have actually watched more than one episode (if that). Or if t
Sadly, MASH has become an underappreciated masterpiece. One of my all-time favorite shows.I'm equally shocked at the lack of awareness of MASH quotes.
Indeed. One of my favorite shows of all time and Colonel Potter's quotes are among my favorites. The "queasy gizzard" was a straight quote from the episode "Back Pay." Also features one of my favorite lines from Potter in regards to Hawkeye and Winchester: "Well, in case Hawkeye does go loco I'll make sure Winchester's back is on the mend. At least it's just his spine that's twisted not his brain."Sadly, MASH has become an underappreciated masterpiece. One of my all-time favorite shows.
Orville is good. But it's comfort food like all Trek. It's on par with most TNG. Better humor though. Although SNW has blown Orville away. I haven't seen the latest season yet but plan to soon. It's better than most Star Trek.
