Verrrrrrrrry interesting. Another 8 from me.
Burnham having to warm up to the circumstances felt rather real to me. As someone who's inclined to simply hide and stew in my own guilt, I can definitely understand why she was so against being pulled into Discovery, particularly once she figured things out.
I'm not the only one who thought "Genesis Device" when Burnham entered the secret lab, am I? Also, I wonder if these creatures in the lab (and the "kitty") are byproducts of manipulating the universe like this.
Captain Lorca is hard to read at the moment. I get the feeling that while he truly is interested in this "new way to fly" and the possibilities it entails, I think he's also willing to use it as a biological weapon. Is he just telling Michael what she wants to hear? I'm not entirely sure that her initial analysis was wrong.
Lt. Stamets pissed me right off at first but then they allowed him to have some character development. What an amazing concept! A fully-rounded character with legitimate grievances.
Cadet Tilly is adorkable. I hope she does indeed achieve her ambitions one day. And I liked that Burnham started warming up to her towards the end.
Saru seems rather wishy-washy at the moment. I also get the feeling that Lorca and Tyler aren't filling him and Stamets in on everything. (Tyler herself is rather one-note and unremarkable at the moment. I hope she gets some development soon.)
