In Scrubs the main three started teaching in the second season, when they become residents and get their OWN interns. Writing papers and presenting findings is a recurring theme through the show too, as Sacred Heart is supposedly a teaching hospital. By the time of the revival they'll have been teaching for decades now. :P
This does make me wonder if our core cast will be in a mentoring position of first year cadets at some point, if the show lasts that long. For whatever reason the entire student body seems to be first-years, with the only mention of older cadets being off planet.
