I thought Disco actually did a decent job with pacing in the first season by breaking into three sub-arcs. That helped prevent the narrative drag every subsequent season fell victim to, with season 4 succumbing the hardest to it.And the season's story could easily have been told in 5 episodes... 6 at most.
DISCO really should have followed ENT season 4's format... two and three parters throughout, with a few solo episodes peppered in. Basically, long enough to tell the story but not not so long that it drags out and overstays its welcome.
As others have said, season 4 had the best concept, but there just wasn’t enough story to last over 13 episodes. If the 10-C arc had covered the back half of the year with standalone stories or two-parters in the first half, season 4 could’ve been one of the best in the franchise.
