And even if the droids were owned by the Jedi order, I always assume that Obi-Wan considered his droids to be friends and companions rather than property.

I don't remember why exactly, but I got the impression somewhere that Obi-Wan didn't really like droids.

Cool as it was as a game idea, the old TIE Fighter videogame may have been a bad idea, because it started the idea of playing Imperials and killing Rebels as something cool and fun — and now we’ve had decades of “the Imperials had a point” and “Stormtroopers aren’t ideological terror troops, they’re perfectly okay guys”, etc.

I'm sorry, but there is something seriously wrong with anyone who agrees with the stuff the Empire does.

Even the OT itself injected some nuance into the Imperial military officers we see, main in TESB. Admiral Piett and General Veers, Captain Needa and even Admiral Ozzel don't really come off as evil people, but rather as decent people doing a job and that job unfortunately places them on the bad guys side. I mean, Captain Needa even takes full responsibility for losing the Falcon and personally meets with Vader to do so, even knowing this will result in his death.

Just because the Empire does have decent people in its ranks doesn't change the fact that as an institution it is evil. You can still celebrate the Empire's defeat even knowing that defeat has screwed over or even killed some people who are quite as evil as its leadership is.

Yeah, this is a fair point. If we go into books and comics we do see some decent people who ended up working for the Empire for one reason or another.

Benjamin Bratt > Jimmy Smits

Not controversial in my book. I've always been underwhelmed by Jimmy Smits, the exception being The West Wing and even there I didn't love his performance the first time I watched those seasons (yes, I've watched them multiple times and will again).

I would've much preferred Bratt in the role from the get go.

I was a fan of Smits version of Bail, but I do have to admit, Bratt was pretty damn great in Andor. Do we know if Bratt is the new Bail from now on in any future productions he shows up in, or was it just a one time thing because they needed Bail in Andor and went with Bratt because Smits was absolutely could not do it, and they'll go to Smits again when he shows back up?

I've always liked Smits as an actor, but his performance as Bail was always just slightly off to me. Watch some of the deleted scenes from ROTS and he really goes off the rails.

Bratt brought so much more gravitas, IMO. And his rendition of, "May the Force Be With You", is one of the best in the entire franchise.

I tolerated Bratt but wasn't exactly won over by him.

Not only does she look spot on for a young Caroline Blakiston but her acting there, in Andor, and R1 has been top notch

Every droid in the Temple or in a Jedi Starfighter was communal property. So every Jedi owned them, but at the same time none did.

I've been nailing through his stuff - so damn funny! And certainly in the UK that trio (plus the people who turn up now and then) are a classic friend group that I think most could relate too either through having been in that dynamic or seeing it play out

Anyway obviously Luke's X-wing was Rebel then New Rep property and he just tanks it into the ocean when he goes all hermit - can you imagine them trying to put that insurance claim in?

I cannot confirm that Wes Janson was in ROTJ.

Apparently he is the fighter pilot all in green but I'm looking into it further as I think my memory of him being in ROTJ in part comes from the EU lore
