Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

I think billions of Trek fans would disagree.

To what, using 12" action figures to write stories?

He will be inspired by Gene's Vision and combine it with the brilliance of William Shakespeare and elevate both of them into something never seen before on tv. A fusion of canon and originality and risk taking that knows how to reach people all across the globe and make them, for the first time see the true potential in Star Trek. In what it has been and can be and will be.

I had fun with Season 3 of PIC, and even I acknowledge it's a giant Pee-Wee's Playhouse full of animatronic TNG mannequins.

Surely everyone got misty eyed seeing the old crew on the Enterprise-D again. All at their stations just like in the good ole days

Who doesn't love characters having no development or advancement in 20 years?

At least I have seasons 1 and 2.

I enjoyed it in the sense that it's always fun to see these characters just interact and have adventures, that's true even in bad episodes of TNG. The chemistry between these characters always makes for fun viewing. However, that's really all Picard season three had going for it -- the chemistry and the nostalgia. The story itself was seriously lacking.

So, you're one of the ones left who thinks Kurtzman can learn?

I said I would hope, that’s not the same as me thinking he can.

Honestly... How would S31 have been if that was Tarantino?

Infinitely better, but that’s only because that’s how bad S31 was. Admittedly that’s a low bar. If Tarantino actually did his film with Chris Pine, best I could hope for is a movie that ranks right in the middle with the films, maybe just below BEYOND.

I’m not really precious about Star Trek films, so he can be as iconoclastic as he wants for all I care. Give Bernd Schneider a heart attack for all I care.

Comment on a YouTube video about the comparative sizes of the SNW and TOS Enterprises and one that makes perfect sense given how Doug Drexler upscaled the TOS Connie for the viewscreen graphic seen in "In A Mirror Darkly, Part II(ENT)."

Doug Drexler did a deckplan of he USS Defiant for the Enterprise season 4 , he scaled that up to the 450 meter scale. It seems to all about fitting the shuttle hanger is a space allowing for the pylon struts to meet the warp core in a direct line.
