Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

I would be fine with Tarantino doing a film because the movies never mattered as much to me. The first ten films were glorified reunion specials, and the Kelvin films were Paramount’s attempt turn Trek into a billion dollar franchise that didn’t pan out. They could literally do whatever they want with those movies, as long as I get my shows. That’s why I don’t dwell so much on SECTION 31. Hell, I hope its failure is actually productive in the sense that Kurtzman learns from it.

So, you're one of the ones left who thinks Kurtzman can learn?

Honestly... How would S31 have been if that was Tarantino?

Nope. Not a chance in hell.

Once that happens any complaint about making Trek "too modern" will make me laugh with derision because Tarantino has a particular way and I don't think it suits Trek at all.

People complaining about swearing in Trek wouldn't have seen nothing yet compared to if Tarantino helms a Trek project.

But that is what would make it a special case or special exception might be a better way to put it. Some people are to talented to say no to.

We didn't Geordi had a mother who was also a Captain in Starfleet until TNG S7 either.

Not Captain but I think they did already established that he had grown up on starships and was always going to different places as a kid because of his parents being in Starfleet. I think "Imaginary Friend" might have been the episode that established that.

The best part about when Alex Kurtzman's contract is renewed is going to be the outrage from the people whose opinion I don't care about.

But if your looking forward to a expected reaction, then doesn't that mean you do care? Wouldn't it be more accurate to say you will enjoy seeing people proven wrong, that you don't like/respect? It is important to you for them to be proven wrong because it will bring you enjoyment.

His main jobs seems to be finding people to create and run shows. His record has SNW, LDS and PRO in the "win column". PIC and DISCO in the "loss column" SEC31 too I guess, but it's not a show. (Dodged a bullet there ;) )

I wouldn't put Picard season 3 in the loss column though we know he will get any credit for that brilliant season. Still Picard season 1 is nothing to be to ashamed about either.

It's firmly in the loss column. We're talking a Sooners 0 Longhorns 49 type of loss. A Sooners 7 Cornhuskers 69 loss.
