Just finished first episode. Not bad. Spoilers below.
Earth's nuclear war began with a fight for freedoms, eh? Well, obviously a bad idea to fight for freedoms.That civil war is going to continue. Don't you realize that even in a fictional universe this end (nuclear war) was manipulated? Please study the history of the Venetian bankers in Europe, first in Venice, then in London. Controlling the money is controlling everything. They manipulated wars and profited from both sides, their end goal being total financial control. This all began with the ancient Phoenicians who began the practices of manipulation that have been so perfected today. They instigated the Protestant Reformation, Martin Luther being closely associated with one of their agents from Venice. They infiltrated the inner circle of the Roman Catholic church. They did this through starting wars, and then offering loans to make both sides debt slaves.
Now, in Trek we have something called the Emerald chain ostensibly run by Orion. Orion is simply the newest incarnation of the bankers. Are they running and manipulating the Temporal War? Food for thought. Be assured that the "leader" of the Emerald Chain is a figurehead. These ancient families moved, changed their names and believed in ancient Babylonian money magic based on the ancient Babylonian religion. Some say, they can open dimensional gates. Some say they are in contact with aliens.
You can argue about the truth of this but it does make a juicier story once you understand how wars really begin.
Spock and T'Pring "get married" on Vulcan and consummate it. Now we may get to the interesting question of why she divorces him. Spock never mentions his marriage to anyone. Why? T'Pring seems perfectly fine with her half human husband. I like the filling in of the back story.

They didn't get married, she just did the official proposal.
As for the wrest your post, it's conspiracy theory nonsense.
They were telepathically bonded at the ages of 7 respectively and this episode was the formal marriage proposal some 22 years later.

watching it right now, it is going okay, although I did not like the spock and tpring scene. it seems of too rehased too acted and too fake, I know they are vulcans but i feel maybe the actors could have done better or the director directed them better.
the whole scene felt very CW espcially when spock is wearing no shirt and he has to show is buff body and the dilaogue there when tpring said, he was about to get naked. urgh, that is something i heard on riverdale before i stopped watching. you can see from the first episode why spock and tpring did not end up together. they are just so unmatched and scripted.
Also I think now I can say Quinto was the better younger Spock, Quinto is just too mucvh of a better and more experinced actor than Peck. It would hve been amazing if Quintowas tv spock, he would have tore off the screen as he did when he was on Heroes.
Peck to me you can tell is acting in the role. he is not a natural like Quinto was

But, that said, this is why I don't like romances in TV. They are scripted. Doesn't matter how good the actors are the romance dies on the vine in my eyes because of the scripted nature. I can at least accept this one because of the Vulcan nature. Barely.
Romance: doesn't belong on TV: save it for real life.
Seems like something Discovery should follow up on someday. Since the identity of Future Guy is technically still in the air…
