I'd add the STD version of hand phasers, as well as the SNW hand phasers.

    M'Benga: Your flap's open.
    Sam Kirk: Excuse me?
M'Benga: On your tricorder. You're draining power.
    Sam Kirk: Oh. Thank you.
    Ortegas: He's always doing that.

    So...M'Benga is James T. Kirk's great-great grandfather?

You spoiled Strange New Worlds' ending by revealing that M'Benga is going to be weeping angel'd

That's how I feel about it as well! Loving Peck as Spock so far, and they're definitely getting better at his look as they go on. Now just to rein in those sideburns...

Maybe we'll get to see Spock's human relations, how his cousins forced him to play Yahtzee.

The tricorders are gorgeous, and rather small - smaller, I believe, than the TOS versions.

All the props hew very closely to their TOS equivalents, which I love. Personally, I would've made the screen about 20% bigger on the tricorder, but in my head-canon they improved it and gave it a bigger screen by the time we see it in TOS. :)

Yeah, the tricorder doesn't quite work for me.

It took SNW to show me I was just coasting with the other new Treks. I like em all to varying degrees but SNW is where the heart is at.

We have the preview for next week’s S01E03, Ghosts of Illyria, here both on StarTrek.com & YT.

It's so nice to have a different story every week.

Loving Spock at the end there: “I’m arming us with knowledge.”

This show makes me smile pretty much the entire way through.

A little bit. But still more retro somehow. Clunkier.

I mean, it could be. It's just that doing so would take an amount of money that Paramount is not willing to spend.

Honestly, the idea that sensors are able to instantly detect things strikes me as an unrealistic trope. It makes sense to me that ships could just sneak up on one-another in the vacuum of space, particularly if they have more advanced technology. The Shepherd appeared to be at least 50-100 years more advanced than the Enterprise, so I can buy that they might just be able to absorb the Enterprise's sensor beams.

6 looks vaguely like the right one, not 10, and 10 doesn't look like either of those...
What you put on 10 reminds me of the VOY and LDS intros ;)
