That's extremely common in managing trauma. Plus not wanting people to be constantly asking after it.Boxing might be a way to cope with the injury. To prove it's not a big deal. ( even though it is). Some people respond to trauma by denying it.

Well it had better be one hell of a trauma to make this strong character want to return to the same ship with this man she's in love with, doesn't hide it, gets picked on by her boss about it and except for a single time when he's suffering through Pon Farr and gives her some kindness, doesn't get a thing in return those feelings. Oh except that one time he puts his consciousness in her body to help Sargon. That's her reward. And I was replying that they don't need much in an explanation; there's one built in.

Strongly disagree.Sure, trauma can change people but that extent of a change....eh. It's not that built in.
Plus, as much as I hate this, we'll never see a STAR TREK series hit 100 episodes again, not with seasons having 10 episodes each in the current landscape. Can SNW really be said to be "prematurely cancelled" when they're giving a two year advance notice that it's ending? And Picard ended after three seasons of its own accord, it wasn't cancelled.
Also, we live in an era where five seasons is considered a full run with many shows voluntarily pulling the plug after five seasons. Granted, that wasn't the case with Disco or Lower Decks, both of which had hopes for a sixth season, but the modern Trek shows still shouldn't be considered failures just because they ended after five seasons.
I think they showed this in the Gorn BTS piece on the Ready Room.![]()

Blink and you'll miss it (pardon the pun!) but the Gorn are shown to have an outer horizontal eyelid ↖️↗️ and an inner, vertical, separately opening and closing eyelid ⬅️➡️↙️↘️ in #StarTrekSNW's "Hegemony II"...and that eyelid is sparkling silver, like the Gorn eyes in "Arena"!!! 😊🧵 1/3bsky.app
I think you've got the seething part down pat.Cope and seethe.
If Trek has shown that the Xindi can have 6× very different species come from the same home planet?I do not understand the bellyaching over the Gorn. After complaints about ENT’s Gorn, and knowing that the TOS Gorn is a bit dated. And short of updating the TOS Gorn with animatronics (think Shran’s movable antennae), that appearance is not coming back in live action.
They have one of the rare Asymmetric StarShips in Star Trek. For all my quibbles with the Gorn design for SNW I do like their ships a lot. It was really cool seeing so many in this episode.
I thought those were Camera's / Sensors? The trouble I have with the Gorn ships is that they're basically all windows. In the cockpit scenes the heroes were basically surrounded by windows. And I believe it was an important plot point that they didn't have windows.
The Xindi-Insectoids in ENT had ships that looked almost as pointy, jagged and asymmetrical and the Gorn vessels in SNW sort of remind me of them. They have one of the rare Asymmetric StarShips in Star Trek.
The last time we saw that design style was with the Breen in DS9.

There is some similarities. The Xindi-Insectoids in ENT had ships that looked almost as pointy, jagged and asymmetrical and the Gorn vessels in SNW sort of remind me of them.
Eh she's shown as an assistant in TOS, someone who can pull up the research and hand over some "sonic separators" or something.
She's not even a PA level. SNW portrays her at practically physician level in everything but license.
. She's outwardly smarter and more dynamic. She is absolutely a 100% better character in SNW.
So much that they don't match, and my snarky "needs an explanation" is more of a jokey commentary that they just ignored her TOS personality.
That's what I am saying. Big budgets aren't needed to provide quality entertainment. The lower episode counts are just down to the way modern big-budget television is made. Studios prefer 10 - 13 episode seasons, which is stupid as hell but it's the way things are done now. To match the 170~ episodes of the 90s shows, you'd need to run for 17 seasons (and as many years).
In the classical sense shows nowadays have less than half the viewers. Is it true that the shows aren't bringing in viewers, though?
"Topping streaming charts" is just an empty buzzword.I'm fascinated by this topic because I've heard conflicting information - one minute Paramount Plus and CBS All Access or w/e it was called are going bust and jizzing money away at an astronomical rate, and then a report comes out saying SNW is topping streaming charts and singlehandedly turning P+'s fortunes around.
And you don't speak for me.Get off that high horse. You don’t speak for everyone
Please explain how it works. Go ahead.That's...not how this works.
Which it doesn't have to be.Streaming is also a struggling platform so comparing to the past is highly inaccurate.
It could work very easily. They just don't have the will to do so.Not exactly familiar with how TV works in the 2020's, I take it?
Hol up! I thought the Gorn were from the Alpha uadrant, that's what the official starcharts say.How does a Black Hole eject a CME?

I was hoping for some new planetary (system) graphics in season 3 of #StarTrekSNW and I was definitely not disappointed! Look at the planetary graphics we got of the Finibus, Galdonterre and Kessik star systems in "Hegemony II"! :-)bsky.app
SNW has all of those. They could easily hire good tv actors for way cheaper than movie stars whose popularity fizzled out decades ago.
They could hire good writers that know the subject rather than hire nepo writers that hate the IP they are working on.
They could hire good directors that can stretch the dollar than just throw ludicrous sums of money to hire famous names.
Where was I speaking for you?And you don't speak for me.
