I gave it a seven. Really liked it but it didn’t blow me away.

It was nice to see the Enterprise, but not enough of it. Seems to be no right to privacy in Star Fleet, Spock goes on leave and anyone can snoop round his room and read his diary?
Privacy is not a part of the future. In VOY, the computer constantly monitors brain waves, and anyone can view holodeck programs, with no overrides.

Also, Spock and McCoy reviewed Kirk's final orders in "The Tholian Web" which included personal remarks to both officers.

Very true.

It’s been a while, but didn’t they think Kirk was dead at that point?

Burnham specifically requested from Pike, permission to go to Enterprise and visit Spock's quarters due to believing that her vision of the "Red Angel" was somehow connected to Spock.
Which Pike gave.

Spock left a message in his personal computer explaining his whereabouts for someone to find.
(which was done in a way specific to his relationship with his foster sister)

It's pretty clear if one pays attention, that visiting Spock's quarters wasn't done willy-nilly.

For all the discussion on this episode, there's actually been surprisingly little speculation on the phenomenon itself, nor the Red Angel sighting by Burnham.

Probably because so far, all we have is "visions" and a somewhat intangible connection to the Mycelial Spores Network.
Not really a whole lot to expound upon yet.

You know, I'm not gonna waste to many words on what I thought. I know what I like and dislike. And I liked this. A LOT!!! Entertaining, fun, exciting, emotional. Good stuff. Loved it. Discovery rules, for me personally. Haters will now say I'm a bad Star Trek fan. Whatever.

Now, where is that windmill?

;)

I think you are not alone in that assessment of Discovery Season 2.

What I'm curious about is if they were intentionally led to the asteroid by the phenomenon generating the red bursts. And if they were, was the asteroid's (or dark matter's in general) connection to the mycelial network the reason for it? So right now, the only question I could ask about the whole subject is if we're dealing with something sentient.
