Fun fact: we also saw what appeared to be Starbase 11 or another Federation planet with a similar skyscape. Those buildings seen in Burnham's line of vision were classic TOS-style buildings.

It's unclear if Lorca was even aware of what Burnham was seeing in those scenes - any connection between "moons of Andor" and the visual of the Preserver obelisk is pretty tenuous.

The Preservers don't modify or do much of any thing with the peoples they save. It's right there in the name, they preserve them and their cultures. Their worlds are "nature reserves".

...In the sense of a philanthropist (philzootropist?) today taking a bunch of penguins, swallows and pelicans and dropping them in a fake jungle, yes. Apparently, the Preservers in "Paradise Syndrome" had managed to destroy their samples of at least three distinct native American cultures by forcing them to live together in an environment that was not native to any of them.

If I was going to point a finger at someone for populating Vulcan, it would be Sargon's people.

...Perhaps Sargon's lot abducted some pointy-ears from their native Romulus and dropped them on the sands of Vulcan?

I'm really looking forward to DSC blasting some fan myths about Vulcan and Vulcans. And clarifying stuff, such as the Kolinahr thing... Supposedly, every single Vulcan to appear multiple times in Star Trek has flunked Kolinahr, because all of them admit to having feelings and just keeping them under control!

Considering "Context is for Kings" showed us an image of what is obviously a Preserver obelisk on one of the moons of Andor, I have a feeling your headcanon is going to be test fired before this series ends.
Since we also saw Janus VI and Starbase 11, which IIRC didn't have any connection to what Lorca was saying, I assumed that everything Michael saw were references to TOS episodes, and so it was Amerind.

We have no idea what that chamber was supposed to achieve, only what it eventually did achieve. But currently, a navigator within chooses a target of his liking, supposedly just by thinking of it. Burnham here would probably be doing much the same, and thus everything she sees would be things she already was familiar with.

The arena with the night sky would no doubt be from her adopted homeworld. She might have visited SB11 and Janus VI. It wouldn't stand to reason for her to have seen a Preserver obelisk and not told anybody, but perhaps she knew of a place and the spores took her (or her field of view, at any rate) to that location, revealing local facts previously unknown to her?

Of course, without the DNA transfer, she couldn't really go anywhere. Or could she? Why was she impressed by this fuzzy holoshow when her world is full of fuzzy holoshows overall? (Because it was more like a proper holodeck, with tactile feedback and all?)

Never played them myself. Always been more into the ancient fantasy game model. Skyrim, Dragon Age, Fable & the like, but I know they are quite popular in the gaming community and there are clearly far worse things from which to derive inspiration out there.

Burnham's IDIC and vulcan 'chime' are on display in Blackpool, UK

Wow... That was fast. Very cool designs close-up. Nice attention to detail.

I really want a replica of that phaser. Probably my favorite design now, on par with the TFF/TUC combat phaser.

It's funny, my favorite phaser designs are on opposite ends of the spectrum. On one end is the very bland "remote control on a stick" that was the TWOK/TMP phaser. On the other end is the TFF/TUC phaser, with all it's little details and nuances.

Ahhh...what the hell...I'm a total phaser slut. I love em all.

And then there's the phase pistol and EM-33 from the Enterprise era, which aren't phasers (at least the EM-33 isn't as it's an electromagnetic pulse weapon that fires bolts of energy) but in many respects their designs are among the best in the history of Trek sidearms. The phase pistol's design is echoed in the upper heat dissipation shroud of the phaser rifle on DSC, a weapon which also incorporates the copper-colored coils of the original phaser rifle from TOS.

That would mean that cold, calculating Sarek adopted Michael just for that express purpose.

The way Vulcans talk about Sarek's "experiment" vis a vis his marriage, child, and Burnham lends credence to that impression, even if it is not the actual case that Sarek pinged an 11 on "Machiavellianism"...

No one said they were good at their job.

The Mass Effect games are solid, and tell a great sci-fi story (except Andromeda). Definitely worth the time.

Played them all, each one is great like Fallout 4.

Andromeda wasn't too bad actually.

What it lacked was Paragon/Renegade choices like in ME 1/2/3.

Wont go further as its criminally off topic.
