It's all part of a grand story. While they leave we see the return of Trip and Tuvix who neither died. Barclay who is one TNG character I still want to see again. All aboard the Enterprise-D now compete with the other sets besides the bridge restored! With William Shatner back as Kirk and in command of the ship!

Forgive me the nuances of the Engish language are not always obvious. I was not literally asking what shows you were watching, it was a sarcastic remark because I cannot see any way in which Academy and Fallout are similar.

Eh, I don't know if he's necessarily geared to be a Captain. If our core group of cadets were given command of ship, I reckon it would be:

Genesis as Captain, with Darem as her First Officer.

Jay-Den as Chief Medical Officer.

Tarima as Chief of Security.

SAM as Chief Science Officer.

Caleb as Chief Engineer (and everyone's booty call ).

And Ocam would be the redshirt who gets killed on the very first away mission.

If they bring the Breen back I hope they ignore what was did to them on Discovery. It seems those Breen also joined up with the Discovery Klingons and Remans to go out into the unknown part of space, forever to never return. They also too all of humans civilian clothes with them also, which is why they now have to wear old looking stuff from the present day.

Genesis would be to obvious IMO. Seems to me the more interesting thing to do is have a character find a new purpose than the one they had when joining. She wants to be Captain. She becomes Captain. Doesn't seem all that interesting of a arc. Also one of them needs to be killed. The message needs to be made that exploring space is dangerous and people will die. In fact I people die a lot in Starfleet. That is one of the prices that come with the job. It's not just about having fun and meeting cool aliens. It comes with danger and responsibility and also your ethics will be challenged at points and even broken.

Genesis is Tim Watters before he ended up in charge of the Valiant.

Just noticed that Sandro Rosta and Bella Sheppard will be at Fedcon in Germany at the end of May, representing Starfleet Academy, and I’m super excited to see and possibly meet them. Fingers crossed that they will announce even more people from SFA. Would love to meet Gina Yashere and Karim Diané!

It takes me a lot longer to become star struck with actors. Usually a full season or 20 episudes now. But thats just me. Its only been 4 episodes. This is the only show I know these younger actors from.

Reminds me of an unfortunate review I saw on amazon for Freedom Fighters: The Ray entitled "crisis on earth-sjw" that bemoaned the film for being too woke not just because of its inclusion of non-white non-straight characters but also specifically because it involved beating up nazis.

I've been replaying the game "Far Cry 5". The villains are an ultra-religious reich-wing supremacist enclave in the US Northwest. I remember when it was first released, there was an outcry from ultra-religious reich-wingers about being portrayed as the bad guys.

I've been replaying the game "Far Cry 5". The villains are an ultra-religious reich-wing supremacist enclave in the US Northwest. I remember when it was first released, there was an outcry from ultra-religious reich-wingers about being portrayed as the bad guys.

An excellent choice. I adore Far Cry 5.

Oh yeah, usually it would be like this for me as well. However, you have to remember that for this show I’ve been closely following the pre-release hype, monitoring every casting announcement and pouring over every minute behind-the-scenes detail that gets released. Partly this happens automatically because I’m moderating this forum, but also I was just genuinely enthusiastic for this show to come out. So in my mind I’ve known these characters and their performers for longer than just the four episodes that aired so far would make you think.

Mind you, I wouldn’t put meeting Kerrice Brooks or Sandro Rosta on the same level as meeting, say, Kate Mulgrew or Jonathan Frakes. But still I’m very enamoured with the SFA cast and am looking forward to see and hear them in real life. What I can also tell you from meeting people like Tawny Newsome, Melissa Navia and Anson Mount is that meeting them and having a good time meeting them does definitely deepen your appreciation for these people. So even though you might not know and love them as long as you have the folks from classic Trek, you’ll end up loving them just as much.

Yeah, the guest list is already pretty amazing. So nice to see such a strong Strange New Worlds showing! Will have to decide who I will want to meet for a photo out of Jess Bush, Babs Olusanmokun, Ethan Peck and Celia Rose Gooding. My wallet will hate me after May. So cool that you will be there as well, @Uncle Sock!
