Forum Rules
Discussions around Star Trek can get heated. Whether you think the show is great, disappointing or something in between, you will encounter strong and varied opinions. And we want you to feel comfortable expressing yours.
Please note that both positive and negative opinions are valid and welcome to be expressed. Disagreements are of course expected, but we ask that you engage respectfully with each other. Challenge the ideas presented and not the individuals sharing them. Post, not poster, as it were.
Furthermore, we are committed to creating a welcoming and respectful atmosphere for everyone, regardless of background, identity, or experience. Bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated — this includes racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, ageism and fatphobia. Please engage with each other in a spirit of mutual respect.
As always, the general board rules apply. Feel something or someone is violating these rules? Please report the post or poster (by hitting the Report button on that post) or reach out to either me or @Kraig in a PM and we will look into it.
Thank you for helping us foster a respectful environment!
Spoiler Policy
When you are discussing Starfleet Academy in this series specific forum, there is a spoiler threshold of two weeks. That means that plot details for new episodes should be spoiler coded for two weeks after an episode first aired. The exception are spoiler-tagged threads (like the episode review threads) where they can reasonably be expected and thus openly be discussed. After two weeks have passed, plot details can be discussed openly in any thread in the forum.
This threshold only applies to discussing Starfleet Academy in this forum. When discussing the show in other forums, please assume that the normal, board wide six-month threshold applies. Likewise, the normal six-month threshold applies to discussing plot details of other current Trek series (like Strange New Worlds) in this forum.
Please be mindful of putting spoilers in thread titles. If necessary, the moderators will edit a thread title or post containing a spoiler.
When in doubt, please err on the side of common sense and courtesy. Thank you!
