Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

They have two and a half seasons left. No need to rush things.

There is less than a true seasons worth of story left 21 episodes. With many of the episodes already planned out and we know at least one is a puppet episode next year.. 😂 ....the last 6 episodes are literally geared up to finish up the story of Pikes Enterprise journeys. That was the only reason why Paramount allowed the last 6 eps.

Yeah. I agree. We know we have more than one comedy episode in the last 21 eps and most always seen to be ship based. Pikes missions really haven't had the excitement as kirks in some ways. Not enough exploration.

I can only imagine white-haired retirees in the 90s complaining the piddly little 26-episode seasons were inferior to the 39-episode "true seasons" back in the 50s.

Stop trying to validate these paltry little mini series vs a nice full season of 24 episodes with musings of 39 episode seasons from the 1950/60's. Which wasn't entirely universal by the way . Bonanza for example had 32-34 at the beginning and settled into 26-28. Then of course half hour shows with 39 were actually less than 20 hours worth of material. Good day gentlemen.

I would not expect anything substantial from SNW in its last season of 21 episodes. 😂

The point is there's no such thing as a "true season" of television. A season is whatever the industry and market can afford to make. In the 50s, it was 30+ a year. In the 70's, it was 26. Since the turn of the century, it's gradually reduced as times and budgets changed.

Oh, come on, guys. Don't we all wish for TV shows to return the hallowed days were they overworked and killed themselves in the name of our entertainment? Truly the best of times

;)

Its steaming that killed it all. But I personally don't want to watch a dozen or more new shows to fill my tv time.. Back in the old days I maybe had half a dozen new shows I kept up with.

....these DAMN production companies are starting to take 2 or more years to release a fresh batch of 8-10 lousy episodes. In which case i would have to rewatch the previous season to refresh my mind since I now have 12 damn shows running through my head all mixed up. Screw that. I'm done with tv....

Yes. They get paid well. I want my fall to summer viewing schedule back. 😂 It still kinda exists but it's quickly dying off.

Soon we won't have TV shows anymore....just like in Star Treks future. 😉

I enjoy sports. Baseball and Football, especially. NBA isn't what it use to be. All they do now is shoot 3's and don't play defense.
The toll on the bodies and ridiculous sums of money spent are far more offensive to me with football. Baseball is enjoyable but football and other sports have started to lose their allure as I age. And the stupid amount of money more aggravating. So, I hope youth lose their interest in those sports.

First season is still tops for me. Hemmer ftw!

I really don't like Carol Kane's character. Nothing special about yet another thousands-year old new species. And her voice is grating as hell.
