PICARD is gonna bat'leth the Hell outta that boy.
That guy's gonna bonk Picard on the head while ol' Jean Luc is gazing misty-eyed at the Klingon weapon and waxing nostalgic about the first time he held one while standing for Worf at his Discommendation.
I'd have a couple of random plates of them show up in Pike's cabin or in another meal situation and do what TOS did. Never explain what they are, just go on like they're an everyday part of life on a mid-to-late 23rd century Federation starship.
Universo put up a 4K version of the trailer, if it helps.
Hey just my opinion. S3 Picard feels like classic Trek whereas that Trailer with that music feels very Star Trek Discovery era at least for me. Hopefully it's just the trailer and not the season but I really didn't enjoy s1 of this series so maybe its just not for me. But like I said I'm coming Hot off of s3 Picard which has blown all my expectations regarding current Trek to hell.

But very relatable writing. As someone who hates being the center of attention I empathize with Spock quite well in that scene. It wasn't my favorite scene by any stretch but it is inoffensive trailer fodder.
This is the SNW/TOS nostalgia zone. It's not meant for the TNG nostalgia zone.
We get it, you don't like it. Move on, stop inflicting yourself on something you don't like.
It's awful IMO. But whatever. I'll check out first couple eps see if it's just the trailer or if this is indicative of the show.

It's a trailer. Trailers are always awful.
I put about as much stock in to it as my dog's ability to do calculus.
The criticism is allowed but it doesn't come across as very valid. It's accusing the show of attempting "brilliant comedic writing" when we have no idea the intent of the scene, besides some awkwardness, and a mild comedy moment. Shooting for brilliance seems a bit...odd.

The trailer for Star Trek Beyond was so bad it was probably rejected as an idea for a humiliating stunt in a Jackass movie. But that Trek film was surprisingly good and a lot of fun.
Personally, I think Peck is coming just a little bit too close to smirking in that shot.
Trek 09 was Beastie Boys fodder and still looked awesome. And I genuinely enjoy that film and think it's arguably Abrams best picture to date. I just thought it was a bad trailer but I'm totally okay with whoever feeling differently.
Trailers are manipulative by definition. I watch them fine; I put no stock in them.
