‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Renewed for Fifth and Final Season

I would love to see Una get her own starship command. She'd be awesome!

However, given Commander Ransom's line of her in LOWER DECKS saying she was 'the hottest first officer', it lends to the idea that she dies before getting her own command. (I kniw the line was an in-joke about how they are married in real life, but it is canon.)

As an alternative, because I don't want to see her killed off, I can see her taking command of a starbase. It worked for one excellent leader... can work for her, too.

The showrunners and Rebecca have hinted that she'll be given her own command. La'an being first officer to her would the happy story she deserves.

I could see her leaving Starfleet after she gets passed over for command of Enterprise for Kirk. Maybe an accusation of anti-Illyrian racism.

although, going that direction might put a bit of a taint on Kirk getting the Enterprise.

I agree. Also if she were to be passed over I doubt she would still be a idol in the future were she is on posters and whatnot. That is why I do like the idea of her going back to teach at the Academy. Maybe she someday even became head of Starfleet Academy. Helped shaped the youth into creating the paradise future we saw on TNG. She would have overseen the rise of the PIcard like Starfleet officers.

I wonder why they introduced Carol and David. They didn't have to have Kirk know and it would have made it easier for La'an and Kirk which they set up carefully in season 2.

I thought Kirk said to Carol 'why didn't you tell me.' I can see know that it might have been 'why did you tell him.' My interpretation was always that Kirk didn't know but yes I see know that he likely did know in TWOK.
