Considering how infamously difficult it's been to get Michelle Forbes back on Trek and Matalas' interview today where he literally asks "Can you ask another question?" in response on how easy or hard it was to get her back, not only do I doubt Forbes would've considered a commitment to a Trek show I wouldn't be surprised if she demanded that Ro die as a condition of her appearance in Picard.

You're probably right.

People connected to Sneed

The galaxy is shrinking by leaps and bounds!

Morn! Likely shipped Sneed's goods and sipped his grog.

Brunt. F.C.A. Probably bid on Sneed's head.

Okona? Outrageous! Did he lose his eye taking a hit from Sneed's spacecrack???

Vash's name is conspicuously absent. She could well have helped Sneed get his vintage human stuff.

Curious to see what's up with Crash LaForge next week ... The yawning, the hair change, the stepping onto screen and vomiting off screen --- and Bev saying she confirmed the cadaver wasn't her (she did not!).

I agree that the "real" Sydney might be tied up in a closet --- giving some motivation to Commodore LaForge, who may not want to dive back into adventure.
Yeah, there's that clip of him seemingly alarmed and saying that "they got you roped into this??" to someone off screen, in one of the trailers a few months ago. I think he was talking to Silva.

Known quantities like that and they go with the Vulcan equivalent of Scarface.

I started to feel something I didn't feel in Season 2, which was we are witnessing a really coherent story arc that keeps building and building with each episode that when it's all said and done, you might prefer to grade the season once you finish the novel. Where last year I was groaning with the story they were trying to tell because it felt all over the place,
I've written about this in other threads, but that's definitely true. Both Picard and Discovery had serious problems building up and sustaining season long arcs. Picard S3 so far has built up a cohesive story structure. It's a far more entertaining experience!

I thought there might be some letdown in intensity after the dramatic events in the "nebula" while transitioning to a court martial, but that wasn't the case at all. Great awareness for keeping the story's momentum going!

Starfleet seems to be infiltrated by corrupt officers at the highest levels every couple of years. It’s a wonder that the organization continues to exist.
Indeed. Along with "[almost] everyone becomes an idiot when they're promoted to admiral", it's a trope that's getting a bit ridiculous at this point.

There's no indication Picard knows those DS9 characters (other than O'Brien of course). But an Admiral in starfleet he knows and trusts makes the most sense.
Works for me.

Shaw's not the bad guy here.
I didn't say he was and yes, he has a point. The utterly childish glee - like a kid in a playground who's told on someone and can't wait to see them get their comeuppance - is what I take issue with. Either he's still high on pain meds or he's incredibly juvenile. Clearly the scene worked for others and that's perfectly fine - each to their own. I'd just prefer a starship captain to act like an adult.

Anybody else wanna see Worf & Raffi hook up and become a couple?
This...concept hadn't even occurred to me. Now that I see it in text...gah. Hell. no.

Picard and Ro finding out they really are who they say they are by getting down to the emotional truths was superb.
That scene was quite brilliant. Everything about it was spot on.

I'd also guess that Ro is not dead. Perhaps she beamed aboard the Intrepid using one of her old Maquis tricks.
I'd really like that. I somehow doubt it'll happen but I'd be stoked to be proved wrong.

It's on amazon in the uk, with P plus through amazon I was able to see it yesterday, but it is on regular amazon prime now (usually on Fridays)
I watched it already on P+, but isn't showing on either for me now. In fact it never showed for me on Amazon (other than showing the free trial to P+ channel as my subscriptions are separate).

I wonder if the Daystrom Stations AI is Moriarity.
I think the weapon that was stolen is Lore.
Also theorizing that Jack was replaced a long time ago by a changeling that somehow absorbed him or at least his memories and is only now starting to remember who he is. Why he was replaced? Who knows.
Shouldn’t the female Founder still be in prison?
How about whipping up a batch of Changeling Virus to take care of these Alphas?

So, has anyone checked on Deep Space 9 recently? Because if I were the Changelings, that'd be the first Starfleet outpost I'd take over.
Not me. Since the wormhole was the Founders access to the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, and DS9 the lone outpost there. I would expect that security measures would be at the highest level for Changelings. It might be better to slip through cargo and trade vessels, work from areas that wouldn't be quite as large of targets and once you have really gained traction, then hit DS9.

Though I would deeply love to see DS9 with modern production values.

Did Worf or Raffi execute Krinn after they got the information out of him? Is he in the La Sirena's equivalent of the brig awaiting spacing. He seems far too dangerous an individual to leave free.

I only did P+ channel this week but I have watched the whole series thus far (and seasons 1-2) on amazon.co.uk prime with my amazon subscription. I'm literally watching it on there right now...

It wasn't a simple scan. A program was written for this purpose, using the data they already had.
The tricorder still needed to read the DNA sequence in order to be a possible fit w/ the program. So if that tricorder could read a sequence I can't see why any other tricorder couldn't as well.
