You can't blame him for being "chipper." He already doesn't like them and now they're about to get in trouble for essentially hijacking his ship and putting him through hell.

Well, duh

In his head, he was probably telling himself he was sticking it to Locutus....

I thought it was perfectly understandable. Picard and Riker hijacked his ship and almost got it destroyed and his crew killed several times over the course of, like, four days.

I'd be pissed if I were him.

Oh, I don't blame Shaw at all. On the contrary, I thought those scenes were great.

Is it still on P+ UK? It was on before and now it has been removed again for me...I downloaded it elsewhere so fortunately my gym cardio wasn't ruined.

It's on amazon in the uk, with P plus through amazon I was able to see it yesterday, but it is on regular amazon prime now (usually on Fridays)

Krinn had the DS9 Ferengi/Vulcan phaser design:

I've got the Robottech toy parts needed to make one sitting in a bin somewhere; I should fish them out and finish it.

So, has anyone checked on Deep Space 9 recently? Because if I were the Changelings, that'd be the first Starfleet outpost I'd take over.

Shaw is honestly the best new character added to the franchise in a long time. I hope he doesn't end up dead or a changeling, I'd honestly love it if he came back beyond Picard.
Agreed, I was thrilled to learn Stashwick was part of the cast and he has not disappointed. His "I'm gonna go outside while you three get your bullshit story straight." might be my new favorite line of his.

I got it.

Sloan was a Pah-Wraith. Section 31's personal-use Pah-Wraith in fact. We saw a lot of doors in Sloan's sub-conscious when Bashier and O'Brien were rummaging around in there, so there's your door connection.

Sloan didn't die, but ended up in Jack Crusher, which pisses the other Pah-Wraiths off no end and he was involved in the creation of the Morphogenic virus, so that's why the other Changelings want him.

This feels, somehow, very Night Man Cometh from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

I now want a musical number, with Danny Devito as a Pah Wraith, singing "you've gotta pay the troll toll, to get in to that boy's soul"

I suspect there's more to it than that. Michelle hasn't had a main tv role since 2019's Treadstone, just recurring ones from her wikipedia page. Yet per Star Trek: Picard's Ro Laren cameo explained: The idea of doing a paranoia thriller | EW.com

When asked if it was a fairly easy process to get Forbes back for Star Trek: Picard, Matalas went silent. "Is there another question?" the showrunner asks, laughing.

it sounds like it was hard to get her even now just for a one shot appearance.
She very likely would have been a contracted actor with New Amsterdam (and possible for Big Sky). Basically getting a play or pay contract with a guarantee of a set number of episodes, and that she would have to give those shows first dibs for any other project.

I stated that I make no claim on if she would be interested in working of a Trek production, just that at the time her work being done would have made it clear to casting and the writers that she wouldn't be an option that they could use for a reoccurring role.

Take someone like Armin. He worked as a series regular on DS9, and a guest star on Buffy. They shot close to each other, and in neither case was he a character that normally worked a full filming week on either project. Thus due to his living in the area, both productions filming close to each other, he was able to work both jobs at the same time. His role as conceived by either show would allow enough time to film either production for most given weeks.

Forbes film work and Homicide (which filmed in New York) would be obvious flags that production would not consider that person dependable for fitting in a work schedule on multiple episodes.

DS9 used a lot of theatre talent because its much easier for a theater actor to work a reoccurring role then a tv one.

Gave it a 9! Was torn between an 8 and 9, but was feeling generous. It was a dang good episode. A fantastic follow up to the first act. I have to admit, at first when I heard there was going to be a court martial, I was picturing something a bit more boring with court room scenes--leading to a drop-off in intensity from the first act. But that wasn't the case at all!

The scenes between Ro and Picard were magnificent. What a great way to establish both their identities. Then the action between the shuttle, Titan, and Intrepid was well done!

I didn't picture the episode ending with the group running in the Titan! So, glad we didn't get a drawn-out Picard in trouble with Starfleet storyline. This is much more fun!

And the closing was a great way to reveal who Ro's operatives were!

At the halfway point, this season of Picard is shaping up to be the best Picard season by far! Also far better than the previous two seasons of Discovery. I love SNW, and this season of Picard is right up there with it!

I haven't read spoilers, but I'd guess that the next episode features the Titan meeting up with Worf and helping infiltrate Daystrom.

I'd also guess that Ro is not dead. Perhaps she beamed aboard the Intrepid using one of her old Maquis tricks.

I loved seeing Ro back. I just wish she would have gotten more time and even survived. She would have been perfect for a starfleet intelligence show. Who knows maybe some other ship beamed her out on time.

Considering how infamously difficult it's been to get Michelle Forbes back on Trek and Matalas' interview today where he literally asks "Can you ask another question?" in response on how easy or hard it was to get her back, not only do I doubt Forbes would've considered a commitment to a Trek show I wouldn't be surprised if she demanded that Ro die as a condition of her appearance in Picard.

Curious to see what's up with Crash LaForge next week ... The yawning, the hair change, the stepping onto screen and vomiting off screen --- and Bev saying she confirmed the cadaver wasn't her (she did not!).

I agree that the "real" Sydney might be tied up in a closet --- giving some motivation to Commodore LaForge, who may not want to dive back into adventure.
