Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

Lazy special effects team who thought that no one would ever notice.
Lazy? I would imagine overworked would probably be a more appropriate term. Don't mistake my desire of a more detailed model as some accusation of laziness. From what I know of VFX production, they tend to be overworked, underpaid and under a constant time crunch. This is likely something that simply slipped under the radar. Shit happens.

Not sure where to ask this question but if the Discovery crew t-shirts say “Disco” and the Cerritos crew t-shirts say “Ritos” then what do the Enterprise crew t-shirts say? “Prise”? “Enter”?

"The Big E."

though I am partial "ENTER"
I'm always amazed that you people can make out the details you do given that so many of the exterior shots seemed to be rendered and lit in genuine 21st century High-Definition Can't-See-O-Vision™.
Because of years and years of playing old video games with limited graphics. Anything newer than 2000 pops out to me with no issue.

Nuff said.

As someone who is on the VFX team for more than one of these shows, and has designed and worked on shots discussed here in this very forum the last word I would use to describe the people I work with is lazy. We aren't up at 2am working on this stuff to be called that, and it's an incredibly dedicated group of artists and technicians.

Real world production constraints/budget/time is a thing. Everyone does the best they can to get as good of a product out in the time given.

It really is something you learn to compartmentalize when you end up in this industry and working on a show you love. There is the time to be a fan, and there is a time to get the darn thing done.
