Not enough here to really make a judgement, but I get some "Shore Leave" vibes from this.

Well he was gray instead of blue (I know, due to the coloring of TAS)

Episode looks good. Lets see if the gatekeepers try and ruin it.

Not entirely sure what gates are being kept anymore, considering SNW now seems to be the most successful show in franchise history.

OMG, now the writers are making fun of Trek. Someone alert Doomcock!

I really like how they colour the tactical vests by division. Great progression from Disco into TOS.

Huh. The lighting was so dark in that scene I just assumed they were wearing the same tactical gear from Disco.
It's silly if you ask me. The whole point of a tactical uniform is to protect the wearer in a tactical situation. You can't do that if the commanding officer is wearing a vest that show's their department color. Any enemy who knows anything about Starfleet will know the ones in the gold vest are the commanding officers and will target them first. If anything, that's one thing Disco got right and SNW got wrong.

I swear, half the time "Starfleet isn't military" gets interpreted as meaning Starfleet isn't allowed to have common sense. Though, I guess we should be thankful they at least have some form of body armor these days...

Personally I REALLY wouldn't want to be wearing the red vest.

Doomcock will be happy the day he dies. Because that means a 30-minute rant video about how the Pearly Gates don't respect longtime established continuity.

True but SNW needs to balance Disco's seriousness with TOS's silliness. I think practical gear with fun colours is a decent compromise.

I mean, yes and no. I was recently doing some research on US and British military uniform history and the way they changed as weapons changed, which is how camouflage patterns came about, when weapons simply could over power the armor of the day. Starfleet and its contemporaries have a lot of technology at their disposal, not the least of which is sensors that can find, identify and pinpoint your location, and weapons that very powerful. Blending in to the background isn't going to do much if your adversary can still find you. So, they opted for color coded.

    Maybe it's too British ;)

When the first five titles/plot synopsises were revealed, Amok Spock became the one I was looking forward to the most. Can’t wait for tomorrow.
