Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

Judging by the way Anson was gushing about the captain's quarters, I'm going to guess it's going to be quite a bit more luxurious than the simple room with a tv and a bed too small for Jeffrey Hunter that we saw in 'The Cage'.

I wondered if the TV was what Peck was referring to when he mentioned Pike’s quarters are filled with low furniture you can bump into.

The bridge station readouts and screens are a lot brighter and have more color to them. This is awesome. The bridge is slowly becoming the TOS bridge even if we won't see it in the new series.
It's funny because this weekend I got my VR setup working again and played Star Trek Bridge Crew and was amazed at how the game turned those random LEDs from the TOS bridge into something resembling workable game controls for warping, combat, etc.

In-universe the TOS control panels were a lot more functional than the props appeared so I've rarely had trouble visualizing the buttons, switches and toggles having multiple functions and being very easy to use.

I think the corridor behind the bridge consoles is gone. The lighting is also brighter

I think a lot of folks don’t realize the TOS bridge screens had text and gauges on them and weren’t just blinking lights. They’re more like futuristic submarine controls than people give them credit.

One thing I wasn’t keen on in the Disco redesign is that they preserved the blinking lights but didn’t make them look like they had a function.

Even ENT's throwback blinking indicator lights had numbers and lettering on them and descriptions about what they represented.

By the way to we have a solid idea of when this show is set versus the start of TOS?

2259-60, so I'm guessing five to six years before Kirk takes command.
Thanks (also to Asmasov, I still haven't figured how to quote multiple posts). I always took Chapel to be in her early to mid 30's, and Uhura to be late 20's early 30's so I can absolutely live with this time frame. And M'Benga never formed an opinion as he was such a small part in TOS.
