TOS Caption Contest #90 - Baby, One More Time

These short contests are fun! Britney wants to do it one more time. Yes, Brit. Anything you say.

I've done about 40 of these contests since I took it over from Shatmandu. My standard way to judge it is to go back through the thread and make a rough cut of all the possible winners. Often I'll have 10 or 15 captions chosen. Occasionally, one caption is so outstanding, so much better than the others, I'll know that picture's winner before I start and I won't do a rough cut for that particular screen cap. For the first time, I didn't do a rough cut today. I knew before I sat down this morning the winners for the contest. Congratulations go to Mallory and Rat Boy for their great captions. Funny, funny stuff.

I also need to take care of one piece of old business. If there is a Trekkie that should be in the Mudd Club, it's Rat Boy. Beyond his leading 21 wins here - that's one in four contests, a tremendous average - Rat Boy has served as our unofficial archivist and historian. Thank you, Rat Boy, for your diligence. You are definitely a founding father of the Mudd Club.

We also have a photoshop winner, combining the talents of A beaker full of death and NCC-1701. This one also was obvious. This may well be the single best photoshop this contest has ever seen, and NCC-1701 caught it perfectly.

Vulcan projectile vomiting was clearly a new experience for most humans.

The TOS caption contest is much like TNG's. There, if you want to go for the obvious, you use a Wesley caption. Here, it's Lt. Sulu...sweating...with a sword. Add Spock in an overcoat and here are two right in the wheelhouse.

Someone get Nerys Myk some oxygen. I think he's starting to twitch in anticipation.
