Qimir/The Stranger did not outright admit he was a Sith, allthough he did say the Jedi might call him that.

Assuming he is not a fullblown Sith à la Palpatine, might it be possible for him to be murderously angry at the Jedi but otherwise not having plans to be evil with capital E (dominate the Galaxy, kick the dog to illustrate how evil he is, etc...)? I don't have much experience with the wider Star Wars lore beyond the films and (some) shows, but at least in games like Jedi Knight and Knights of the Old Republic it was implied one could use "dark" force powers and not be on the evil path, per se.

Other than his own vendetta against Jedi, and him encouraging Mae's similar vendetta, so far we haven't seen him go out of his way to do evil things. He obviously has no qualms killing jedi, and he kills witnesses, but how does he act when he feels secure?

Would the "dark side" definitely corrupt Osha like Anakin or is a more nuanced outcome (for season 2, to start with) possible within SW rules as they are now?

While all he said in the show was that some Jedi might call him a Sith, all of the people involved with the show regularly called him a Sith, and it looks like his master is Plagueis, who will eventually go on to be Palpatine's master. So despite what the line in his introduction might imply, he pretty clearly is a Sith. And the games you mentioned are part of the Legends expanded universe, which was made non-canon when Disney bought Lucasfilm and they restarted all of the books, comics, ect.
And gameplay elements like can't really be used to judge anything outside of the game, since they're always going to be focused more on what's cool or fun, and less on the wider lore.

Yeah, I tend to take gameplay mechanics with a pretty huge grain of salt in this area. In Jedi Academy, for example, you can just run around blasting lightning at people all damn day and it makes no difference at all to your alignment. You just get some super mild cautioning from Luke when selecting powers. I don't think it's supposed to work that way in the film-verse. After Rey uses lightning in episode IX she is not pleased with herself.

Yes, but she doesn't go instantly evil either. Still interesting to see if Osha will be totally corrupted now, or not quite.

Funny since every time people have pointed out the relatively low viewer numbers of Acolyte compared to other shows, those reports get shot down.

Well for one, those numbers aren't from Disney, thus they are irrelevant. For another; dubious viewing number estimates from third party sources and internal financial quarterly reports are two *vastly* different things. You do know that different numbers mean different things, right?
Well here we are, https://deadline.com/2024/08/the-acolyte-canceled-no-season-2-star-wars-disney-plus-1236044233 , and it seems like my prediction based on these "irrelevant" numbers was indeed correct.

Disney become Netflix and this will be start of the multiple SW projects being left unfinished in years to come. Judging streaming shows by the standards of sole ratings over 30 days rather than having a complete library of content for years to come defeats the purpose of us having streaming networks.

Stop treating it like network or cable TV.

Why should I bother to watch any future Star Wars content now is my feeling? I've basically given up watching Netflix content until it's a complete run because I got sick of investing my time in cancelled content.

They have also killed the High Republic Era as a live action format at the very start IMO.

High Republic just isn't that... great to be honest. I'm trudging through Path of Vengeance now. Yes it sells decently enough on book sales but most Star Wars stuff does (even Crystal Star sold well back in the day).
People wanted Darth Revan and Malak, Bastila and Nihilus and Sion and Traya from the Old Republic of Legends. That would've been killer to see on live-action. LFL insiders like Pablo Hidalgo derided the interest in Old Republic stuff and insisted that their new stuff was more interesting and would attract more viewers. Well, now we see how that worked out.

Personally, I liked The Acolyte. I didn't think it was great, but I thought it had the potential to get better. I think they wanted this to be a character-based show, but what worked for Andor did not work here. Maybe people wanted a show that presumably featured the Jedi at their height to be more action-adventure oriented and this didn't deliver that. It's no wonder that many think Episode 5 was the only good episode in the series.

On a side note, the apparent lack of buzz for Skeleton Crew doesn't bode well for that series either. It too may wind up being a one season only series, IMO.

As far as any further productions set during the time of the High Republic, I think that's now very unlikely. It started off as a publishing-only initiative, and perhaps should stay that way.

You do know people like you are the reason they get cancelled, right?

Oh yeah I don't think Jude Law comes cheap. Acolyte didn't really have any big name actors from the west headlining it. Lee Jung-jae is certainly big, but I don't think he can ask for what Jude Law could (and I don't mean this in a racist way as an Asian myself, that's just how Hollywood is).

What's the excuse for all the shows I did watch live run for 99% of my life that got cancelled as I watched them, especially on Netflix.

Pretty sure all the whiny gatekeeping arses that cry when they see a diverse cast on screen might be more of a problem than me who actually watched the show.
