Meanwhile the bomb, which is only a power move on Carols part, actually shows promise.
Thanks for the correct numbers. At a hotel and only have my phone handy.

Yup, that was effectively chilling, giving strong Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) vibes.I thought the opening scene was terrifying. The way everyone appeared human and caring, right up until they infected her, then everyone became a mindless drone sent shivers down my spine.
Heh, I was so focused on the Laxmi parallels that I didn't even see the additional Koumba parallel. Both of them are clearly deliberate on the show's part but I wonder if those parallels are lost on Carol. It struck me during Carol's globetrotting holiday Zosia that she was effectively little different to Koumba, maybe she doesn't consciously realise what she's doing but like him she's playacting and getting herself a nice little love slave into the bargain (and the Others presumably planned this, they chose Zosia very specifically)
Why do you think Manousos even knows Rick? Rick was just the next guy the Others sent over, as per Manousos' request. I'm sure Manousos knows Rick's name because Manousos asked Rick his name for the express purpose of trying to communicating to Rick once Manousos disrupted the signal.Manousos is a little intense to say the least, and I'm not sure his actions are completely altruistic. Who is Rick? A former lover or friend or brother? Someone who died who Manousos thinks he can get back? Does he now accept the Others are just infected with a virus or does he think they are demons, and that perhaps he can contact the afterlife through them?
Oh, I missed that! I was trying to make out the book cover but I didn't pause the episode to look at the cover (it's not one of the traditional covers so I didn't recognize it right away). As a big fan of that novel, I think you might be right.I wonder if there's any significance to Carol reading The Left Hand of Darkness?
There was a shot on the street with the light pole and the drone was goneDrone on the Streetlight watch: I honestly feel like Gilligan is deliberately avoiding all shots of that particular streetlight just so we can't see whether or not the drone is still there, but maybe I'm just being paranoid. Either way, I think from the bird's eye view of the helicopter shows that it's not there but I couldn't be 100% sure.

It was gone at the start of the last episode, when Manousos arrives.I feared that was the case.
