I'm more bothered by the shit quality: rubber head, rubber armour. Obviously rubber. Hopefully it'll look better in the episode itself but it looks like cosplay to me.

Other than our Klingon friend, I think the trailer looks fab. Kirk not knowing how to use a revolving door because he's "from space" makes me think maybe they're using Federation: The First 150 Years as backstory (they've drawn from it before in Picard and Prodigy) because it had Kirk Prime born on the Kelvin too, as opposed to the fan theory that in Prime the Kelvin made it to Earth and he was born in Iowa. Still not crazy about their casting but I'll give him a chance.

People get butthurt because so few people liked the STD Klingons that no one else making Trek followed the show's lead.
Well, that's kind of too bad, but...if you want to set a direction, you should know what you're doing and do it well.
The show brought new production technology to Trek and that was great - costuming, props and effects have been improved a lot by the introduction of those things. But of specific design departures as distinct from stylistic variations from the previous Trek shows little significant has persisted or carried into Picard or SNW or the animated shows. Because that stuff was not well received.
