Perhaps SNW's answer to TOS having different badges for each ship... but I wonder how that would fit in with the shot we saw of Kirk wearing a different "main" badge.

Aesthetically, I actually prefer the sixties tricorder over the SNW one. I am liking the phaser and communicator, though.
