Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

I have no good reason to base this guess on but I will do it anyways. Lily and Issac are Pike's parents. Series opens with the Enterprise at Earth about to go out on a 5 year mission. Pike has returned home and maybe Spock has come with him for company. He tells his parents about his fate about ending up in the chair. Meanwhile back on the ship Number One is welcoming new crew members aboard. One of them gets in a fight and ends up in the brig. Number One helps them deal with whatever issue they are having that will be character oriented. She wants it taken care of before Pike and Spock return. The episode ends with the ship getting a mission or distress call or something and that will play into whatever the second episode is.

There's a direct Old/New Testament parallel between Isaac and Christ. And there were lilies at Gethsemane (which is why they're so popular on Easter).

It's really reaching, though. I'm just basing it on the fact there was so much biblical subtext and symbolism in the first two seasons of Disco.

Or they could names of someone on staff's kids.:p

Given the code names of previous seasons of Discovery, Green Harvest, and then Mill Street, I was thinking it was probably something along those lines, and not necessarily directly related to the series.

As a matter of fact, Akiva Goldsman, creator of SNW, is a big Isaac Asimov fan, and has optioned and written screenplay adaptations of two Isaac Asimov books, ‪‪I, Robot and The Caves of Steel.

And Akiva’s daughter is named Lily.
