For what it's worth the Enterprise bridge turbolift alcove in "The Cage(TOS)" didn't even have a dedication plaque.
All things being equal I'm glad it was missed. I prefer character development to stunt casting. (Ironically) Tatiana Maslany is one of a kind. All that isn't necessary to tell us stories involving Una and Christine. I'm really hopeful it will pan out that they aren't clones, but even more than that, please, Gandalf, this time let us not even discuss it with outsiders.

I'd rather not see a straight reboot of TOS, but I wouldn't be opposed to a show set between TMP and TWOK. Which would essentially achieve the same purpose while filling in another blank spot on the map.
I am quite aware of that, I was just indicating that there are other possible situations involving those two particular characters that could be used.
Being related in any way is also on the list of places I hope they don't go (while being well aware that conceivably they might).

Consistency, less fear, less drama, and I am optimistic on this front. Excited too.
I really love Ethan's look as Spock. The Paramount+ ad version improved on the Disco S2 finale version, and this one is even better. I'm very happy they've parted from some kind of strict continuity with TOS and The Cage and given the hair, ears, and sideburns a true refresh from the original (and the ears and sideburns have a nice symmetry). It finally fits his features. Kind of bold to play with the look of such an iconic character--more power to them! Ethan looks stellar.
Is M'Benga going to be CMO? Because it'll be really, really strange that he gets demoted by the time of TOS. Or will the CMO be some eternally unseen character like Discovery's was? (I thought it was Dr. Pollard but she was lower ranked than Culber, so...) Strange that there was no casting announcement for Boyce or Piper.
Hopefully he is serving out his residency under the CMO. His appearance is already annoying enough without him being CMO.
And de-ages 20 or so years.
An opportunity for what, the lamest kind of in-joke fan service they could come up with? Yeah, odd for the franchise to pass that up.
