Easily my least-favorite part of the whole uniform. I'd hide those tops of the boots with flared trousers.

At least with the Monster Maroon variant that Admiral Pike comes from an alternate future so it's believable that the Starfleet of that 2280s would have a Monster Maroon like that.

The shoulder decorations are ridiculous. Other than those it's a perfect interpretation of the TOS dress uniforms. Pretty respectful to the 1966-69 design, too.

We get it. There were no ranks on the originals, but don’t you think you’re over compensating?
Those shoulders. Sheesh. We get it, you have a much bigger budget than NBC and Desilu had nearly sixty years ago. But come on. 
Maybe we'll get a "Take Me Out To The Gridiron" football themed episode.
This uniform discussion makes me chuckle sensibly.
Monster Maroons are renowned as fan favorites but feel overdesigned to me.
SNW dress uniforms are overdesigned but I think they are reasonable interpretations of the originals.

I dislike both for the same reason.
Well, for me, one is meant as a duty uniform yet looks like a dress uniform. The other is meant as a dress uniform and strangely, looks like a dress uniform.
A dress uniform should be ornate and shiny and sparkly. It's your dress to impress uniform no functionality needed. Unless someone goes and attacks your fancy diplomatic event but no one would be so impolite as to do that right?
Does beginning to film season 4 so quickly after season 3's filming ended (in comparison with some shows these days that have longer time between seasons) suggest there will be another cliffhanger ending for season 3?
Maybe. Or they just want to film while everyone's available.
You know, to keep everyone in the same headspace. Easier to get back into the moment and into character perhaps if less time elapses between filming the ending of one suspenseful scene and the outcome in the next.
Picard season 3 filmed right after season 2 and those two seasons were very self contained, so I don't think it gives us any hints about the season 3 finale.
What are we talking about? Season 3 wrapped last May and that was also because it was delayed by the strike(s).
Also it appears that season 2 started filming around this time as well in 2022. (Before season 1 aired.)
