Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

It would be fun if the show shot one episode mimicking the cinematography style of TOS, but either never commenting on it, or making it the result of another space anomaly, just to break peoples' brains again.
Though it’s several hours away , I wonder if they’d consider using the recreation of the OS sets down in Ticonderoga? Assuming they’re “filmable”. They’re from a fan film, right?

We don't really.........they had them because it WAS the 60s. These are not "the historical documents".

But we saw them recreated again in the 90's and early 2000's on "Enterprise." No reason they can't add more 60's visual touches. "Star Trek" isn't real. It doesn't matter if it is unrealistic that the future will at some point look like the 60's again for no reason. Besides it's not about what they have to do. It's about what would be fun for them to do. Who wouldn't find it fun to see the show start to look more 60's by the time it is over.

Why do they need to be "historical documents"? Fashion and hairstyles make comebacks all the time.

I'm convinced that Uhura's hair is evolving into her TOS look.

That's not how space anomalies work! I am willfully ignoring all the times in the previous Treks that space anomalies did work like that as it ruins my rose tinted glassed-view that 66-05 Trek was not in fact perfect and that the current garbage is a lot more closer in spirit to the old days than I am comfortable admitting.

;)

See Galaxy Quest to get that reference
Doesn't ring any bells. ;)

Still though, if the hair and makeup department asked Ms Gooding if she'd like a Uhura-style bouffant for a later ep, I think we'd survive wouldn't we?:bolian:

Oh, and Rand with a beehive! They never seem to go out of fashion.

I don't even know why I'm getting into the topic of hairstyles, I should've left it alone. I've had the same haircut for 25 years.:D

The differences between the NX-01 and the NX-02 are a Deflector dish and the colour of the hull.

The differences between the New Jersey and the Enterprise are far more significant. The shape of the upper saucer is entirely different, the windows are entirely different, and the secondary hull has some minor differences. Which I'm fine with.

I'm just saying it's odd to go to the trouble and use the resources required to build an entirely new model, when they could have simply used an existing model and achieved the same effect. The Constitution model used in season 4 of Enterprise was far and away a better looking rendering of a Constitution. The one seen in Picard was just ugly by comparison.

Maybe the New Jersey was specially built for PIC and maybe not. Probably 98.7 percent of CG artists have their own version of the TOS Enterprise sitting in a directory somewhere.

I now want to see the SNWConnie meet a TOSConnie and no one bats an eye.

Cause a segment of the fandom will lose their minds as they're both treated as canon at the same time.

And then a series finale wih the passover of the Enterprise to Kirk and its still the SNWConnie XD XD.

I just want to see the world burn. Is that so hard to ask? :P.
