Because it doesn't appeal to you.Yeah, but why wouldn't I be interested in a story about ships chasing the Enterprise around the inside of a brown dwarf? It's like Wrath of Khan crossed with Starship Down and a bit of Disaster. Something about it is pushing me out of the story and I can't quite put my finger on what it is.
Who said it's fair? Life is not even close to fair at all. I think Gandalf said that once. But it's appealing to everyone else! This doesn't seem fair at all.
"You could say to the universe this is not fair. And the universe would say: Oh, isn't it? Sorry." - Terry PratchettBut it's appealing to everyone else! This doesn't seem fair at all.
Same. Ever since I got mocked for liking TOS and not liking TNG by my Trek fan friends I have come to the conclusion that my enjoyment of Trek has zero to do with other people's enjoyment of Trek.I could care less if everyone else loves something and I don't or vice versa. I'm not into Trek to feel part of an accepted group and fall in line.
I'm here for the bubblegum.I'm into Trek for myself and for the relationships I can build through my fandom. Period.
I have no problem with any of the relationships. People fall in love. Doesn’t matter the time or the place. Is it a little unbelievable that this many couples would occur in a workplace? Sure. But look at The Office. Jim/Pam. Dwight/Angela. Angela/Andy. Michael/Holly. Michael/Jan. Kelly/Ryan. Kelly/Darryl. Erin/Andy. Erin/Pete. I’m sure I’m leaving some out. And no one complains about that show’s romances.
Of course Burnham and Book's relationship is more professionally acceptable than Stamets/Culber's because they are not technically colleagues, but that's me.
That's not how Trek works for me.Well I'm sorry. It is Star Trek and it should feel like Star Trek always felt. If you want some other Sci-Fi adventure, try to find some other shows. Star Trek is Star Trek.
At the risk of being judged as shallow, my god the new Chapel is the most attractive woman in a Starfleet uniform since Jadzia.
It's been scraped from the bottom of some pretty sketchy shoes. The bubblegum here is overrated.![]()
