TAS has been canon for a while now.Robert April was NEVER in TOS and TAS is not canon. The only canon mention of him is in DSC's first S2 episode on the viewscreen.
That's so bad guys can't see them bleedTAS got so many colors of uniforms and other things wrong I can still buy the two Aprils being the same person. I mean, the TAS Klingons had bright pink uniforms. I think we can reconcile the two.![]()
Nice source.Well I heard he was

That doesn't count. Clearly. It's apparently canonical for LOWER DECKS.
I'm going to have to ask for a citation for this. (EDIT: if it's referenced in LD that's on me, since I don't watch the show)TAS has been canon for a while now.
It was the drugs.Bruce Maddox became a completely different person between 2365 and 2399.![]()
Must be El-Aurian.Bruce Maddox became a completely different person between 2365 and 2399.![]()
Well I heard he was, on twitter...
Canon is really just a tool box. You take from it what you need to build a story.
He also changed his appearance to look like "John Ales", because El-Aurians can do that.Brian Brophy probably is an El-Aurian. He will outlive us all.
He was never in Smallville so that wouldn’t work.Tom Hanks has always been my preferred casting choice for Captain April.

No, it shouldn't matter. Same with Khan looking very different from TOS to TWOK .I'm going to have to ask for a citation for this. (EDIT: if it's referenced in LD that's on me, since I don't watch the show)
But even if it's now considered canon, it's so unimportant to the overall franchise that a change of race for April shouldn't even be on our radar.
We're way past that.Yeah if we start to worry about minor prior canon elements now, we'll all go insane...
...or have we already?
It's completely canon, even the stuff other shows haven't referenced. The events of TAS are canon based solely on whatever the live action shows care to reference.
