It's crazy that 2/3rds of Pike's command crew (Spock, Uhura, M'Benga and Chapel) in this new series would later serve under James Kirk.
You think that's weird, look at Captain Riker's command crew in Best of Both Worlds.
Well, Riker had to be inspired by someone.
Or the fact that after Starfleet loses 40 frontline ships and about 10,000 experienced personnel, they would allow all the experienced officers aboard the 1701-D ( with the bridge crew being very heavily made up of 'Commander' ranked officers) to remain assigned it to the ship when experienced officers we're suddenly in very short supply.
Looking a little closely at the 13 new promotional images Paramount released today along with the full trailer I noticed the images were named/tagged with episode numbers.
Then, looking back at the potential episode title leak* that came out a while back, we can associate each set with their supposed episode titles.
*at this point these titles remain unconfirmed. A lot of advance information through casting reports has panned out for both SNW & PRO in the last couple months, but not all rumors are created equal, so take it all with a grain of salt.
These 3 images were tagged as from Episode 01, which is supposedly titled Strange New Worlds.

if the pilot is called Strange New Worlds, then it would be the fifth Star Trek to take their title from the opening to TOS. You have "The Final Frontier" For Star Trek V, Where No Man Has Gone Before, the second pilot to TOS, Strange New World and These are the Voyages... the finale of ENT.
There was only one more title in the possible leak story.
It’s Episode 04, Momento Mori, which I assume, if accurate, is a typo, and it’s meant to be Memento Mori, as in something that represents a foreboding omen of death/a final fate, and would be a natural fit for a title for an episode about Pike reckoning with the foreknowledge of his ultimate destiny.
Fantastic titles, all. If they’re legit, woo! If not, hey, someone out there is after my heart regardless.
Who knows, we could get official announcements of titles next week at Mission: Chicago! The Strange New Worlds panel is the only one I’m sure I’m going to try to make it to, and I’ll be keeping my eyes and ears out!
They do sound very legit, though I don't really like the idea of them naming the first episode after the series. Especially as Enterprise basically beat them to it with Strange New World.
There are a few virtual duplicate titles across Trek that are only different because one is singular and the other is plural, so it could be seen as upholding a tradition, I suppose.
That's true. In fact Emissary is one of them. Okay, that makes me feel a little better about it if it's following in DS9's footsteps.

I love all the splashes of TOS-like color on the bridge displays.
