So they say it’s going to be more Episodic, and more optimistic.

In german, I would say: Der Worte höre ich wohl, allein mir fehlt der Glaube... I'm not sure, if there is saying like this in English. What I mean: I really want to believe them, that they've heard some of the main ciriticisms on PIC, but then again, they also gave similiar promises before PIC and then, PIC just made a lot of the same mistakes like DSC before...

I know it's only a simple thing, but can we get opening titles with Anson Mount saying "Space. The final frontier..." and a traditional Star Trek opening titles sequence of the Enterprise flying around space and a classic Trek theme tune? Not asking much.

YES PLEASE. This is needed. I sincerely hope they'll do this. I would LOVE to hear Anson Mount speaking those iconic words.

My guess is it will be post Discovery Season 2 to capitalise on Pike knowing his future and Spock's character growth.

But I totally agree. I absolutely adore Anson Mount as Pike, and I'm also very excited for this show!

Those are my thoughts as well. Now that people (except for the ultra-stubborn) have that they want with SNW, I hope they're more apt and willing to leave DSC and PIC alone or accept them for what they are.

They need significant characters in this show who are younger, they need more female characters who aren't walk-ons and they need people of color.

Boyce was an old man on a mission years before the "present" - he should be replaced.

I hope the show's remit is not to simulate a hypothetical season of Star Trek 1964, no matter how much some fans might want that.

I’d like to see him maybe be in the first season only, about to retire, or have him die/sacrifice himself in some dramatic turn in the season finale. It would be nice to have just that little additional bit of character continuity, but it’s not a deal breaker if they don’t do that. The question then becomes, did Piper take over the CMO position after Boyce left Enterprise, or was there someone between them?

I love that. I'd have to dig for it, but, I remember quite well Anson Mount talking about the prospect of doing a series like this at last summer's convention (I think). He said he'd want a Pike series to be more episodic. This was shortly after season 2 of Discovery ended and the calls for Pike to get his own show were really ramping up.

I bet good money Archer shows up somehow. People keep asking for T'Pol but the actress seems to have no interest in her Trek past. Bakula is already working for CBS though so it makes perfect sense. Have him be a old man in the pilot. Maybe April is also in the episode and it's Federation Day or something and some celebration is going on. Maybe Phlox as well because we don't know the Denobluim lifespan.
