Spoilers Starfleet Academy General Discussion Thread

I mean in the context of stories. Clearly it's a different institution and with a different charter and set of rules, but in the show itself it'll likely be the military muscle to back up the "armed explorers."

Looks like Lura Thok is 50 years old as of Season 1, which would have been unimaginably ancient a lifespan for her purebred Jem'Hadar ancestors in the late 24th century!

do we have any streaming data on this show yet? I'm in Australia, my Paramount plus app tells me it's currently apparently number 3 here.

I have an acquaintance on social media who insists the show is a 'failure' . I've watched the first two eps on P+ two times each so far .

The Youtube grifters will of course say it's a failure.

The YouTube views for the premiere have gone up a bit after the unimpressive first day, it's on 165k now. Still not exactly going gangbusters, but looking healthier than might have been expected given the first 24 hours.

I'm very disconnected from the online Star Trek community at large so I don't come across the bulk of the hate that most people talk about, but on the places I do visit (and among my friends), the consensus reaction seems to be "the show's not amazing but it's better than you might have expected and worth a watch", which is perhaps the kind of reputation that will help to draw viewers in slowly over the course of the show's first season.

From what I gathered in Episode 2, the War College was formed during the Burn, and was the only organization training of Starfleet officers during that time.

I wonder if we'll see the War College fold into SFA at some point. I also imagine the two schools will be depicted as a rivals.
