Yeah, no.

He has more important stuff to deal with.

Have him leave Star Trek alone.
He's a born multitasker and delegator. Having a strong Star Trek might even help steer more public support towards the Mars colony and eventual interstellar civilization...

He should stay in his lane.

He has plenty of companies to run and things to do.

Worrying about Star Trek isn't worth adding to his plate.

We'll eventually get to Mars one day & have a InterStellar Civilization someday in the future.

But don't worry about that now, we have plenty of local / current issues to deal with.

Let's get through those first, then we can worry about those things.

These aren't actual thinks.

TOS design is not bad. It's good, but insufficient. That's all there is to it.

It's insufficient today, agreed. We're past the era of "somehow intuitive winky blinky lights that give the characters the data needed" to propel the plot along. It's a part of the time it was made, but today that doesn't go over. I'm fine with winky blinkies to handle carrying out of tasks, like phasers and push the button to make the ship go and whatnot. Any bridge set made since cries out for data displays of some sort, but 1966 didn't have that tech available without using "burn in" screens which required a camera lockdown or expensive and noisy rear projection.

However, in the time it was made, the TOS design was great. We accepted lashing lights and sound effects as "futuristic functional." TOS reflected how the future might look to the era. Today it's a retro vision and Star Trek was never that. I think with the tech, SNW get that part just right.

Absolutely.

Gotcha. So, what you're saying is we need is Star Trek Canon Great Man of HistoryElon Musk to purchase the franchise, excise most of the garbage from said canon, and make a proper 24th century continuation. I'm totally on board.

Though it might be tough to convince Elon to cut Disco from canon considering it's where he gets his Great Man status.
Heh ... Yeah, cause he's done such a 'wonderful' job with Twitter.

/S
:guffaw:

Wouldn't Mirror Universe Musk be a competent businessman, keen scientist, and genuine philanthropist? And also interpersonally charming, with an excellent, un-clockable hairpiece?

I dunno. The only example we have of an evil person being good in the MU is Brunt.

In general, the MU either seems to be "evil, LOL" (particularly for Terrans) or just random.

Terrarium=/= Terrans, which is the only connection I'm finding to this.

That's a nice thread you have here; be a shame if something happened to it.

Mirror Miles O'Brien has the same haircut and engineering talents as well as temperament (just, well, angrier due to a lifetime as a Terran slave of the Cardassians and Klingons), so Mirror Elon may look and behave a lot like ours.

O'Brien is the one man so steadfast he's identical in every single alternate universe.
