I've been saying that for years about Tuvix, Starfleet as a military organization, the offset angle of the TOS bridge relative to the rest of the Enterprise, etc., etc., ad naseum, ad infinitum.

It helps to keep little pieces of my soul from sloughing off into oblivion.

We still have souls?
Dark souls...

It's interesting that if she did survive, they were unable to get any info from her unconscious mind, or any info a humans from the wreckage of the ship - even to the extent of a picture of a human to give them a basic idea of what a healthy human looked like.

But yeah, they may not be as powerful or as advanced as they would like alien visitors to believe.
it’s actually pretty consistent with how they are presented: they are a deeply decadent society that by then are terrible at any kind of labour.

And that's how Talosians were presented fifty years or more ago. They've basically spent so many centuries leading lives of telepathic comfort that they can't even repair basic equipment left behind by their own ancestors.

Even more reason to be proud of humans. After a nuclear war we become the leader of an interstellar alliance and within 108 years of the last mushroom cloud. The Talosians spend thousands of years coming up with ways to project picnic fantasies into others' heads.

"Damn it Bubba, cut that out!"

Just look at how we imagine dinosaurs to be, as if the skin was immediately over the bones, and you’ll see a real example of imagination giving a picture of a creature totally different than that of other living creatures.
