I'm going to go with an 8. I like that Pike's father was both religious and a scientist. Also interesting that Burnham and Owosuken have never been or seldom been to a church.
I've been to a church exactly three times in my life. When my mother died and at two weddings. As a half-Iranian, my father is Muslim and my mother was Christian. I wasn't raised on a religion but they decided I could choose my own faith... but then I ended up not choosing a religion. While that's basically where it stops with me, and I'm only Agnostic, my brother is a hardcore Atheist. All of this used to lead to some interesting discussions...
One time my uncle (who's deeply religious) told me if I didn't believe in God, then it meant my mother was in Hell. I really had to hold my tongue. You don't try to force someone into believing by talking like that. My father is more open-minded, luckily. Though he believes a type of energy leaves your body when you die.
My thoughts about different religions (besides "I won't know until I die and I'm not in a hurry to die") are that they either can't all be true or, if they are, then they were interpreted differently. If they were interpreted differently than all could be true and it makes sense that all religions are represented in the Church on New Eden.
