SNW Season 5 In Development

There's over 1800 days within a 5 year period and only 79 episodes of the Original Series. I think there's plenty of room for them to tell more stories during the 5 year mission, if that's what they wanted to do.

I just don't see it. Premise : Set during Kirk's historic 5 year mission. Watch new adventures of the Enterprise that happened in between episodes within the orginal series "

The powers that be are already doing some mental gymnastics to sell SNW as a different , "genre bending " version of Star Trek. I just do not see them doing "in between" stories or episodes within the 5 year mission without more to the premise than just that.

They should take all the non TOS characters out of the show at the end... and put them into a spin-off on their own ship. Una, La'an, Pelia, Ortegas, Mitchell. Make Batel the captain. Also maybe add some new male characters too.

Number One was in TOS.

The Post TMP era is a clean slate and could provide for an aesthetic change from the TOS era.

BRING BACK THE MONSTER MAROONS! :D

My focus is singular. I’m ‘Strange New Worlds’ all the time. But would I like to get us right up to the edge of [‘The Original Series’] and then have somebody call us and say, ‘Now make that show!’ We literally have a fantastic cast, and we have incredible sets, and we have all these things right there — it’s a shame to waste it.

What for?

It's already been done. (Twice!)

TOS isn't really complete until we get official stories for the first and last missions. There's a reason they keep writing books and comics about that. It's an itch.

  • First Mission: Star Trek '09
  • Final Mission: Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country

(At least, that's how it is with me.)

SNW is not a remake or a reboot, it is a prequel, also what they want to talk about is making a TOS remake in the prime timeline. In other words, they want to make a kind of picture adaptation of the classic episodes in TOS. Also, it was not a Kelvin timeline remake, it was a reboot.

I hope the series doesn't end with Pike's accident.

I'm not saying retcon it away, just end the series before it happens.

End on a high note.
The trouble with this is that SNW viewers already know that he ends up in the chair but not necessarily the other side of his fate. This means that fans are going to be told 'oh, it's not actually that bad for Pike in the end, here watch an episode of this other TV series to see what happens next'.
