By the end Uhura has to wear yellow and any potential Sulu has to wear blue lest they get a thorough tongue lashing for not lining up perfectly.
I hope they get it correct. Sulu also needs to be a working physicist.

If Andor, a prequel made by someone who doesn't give a damn about Star Wars, can make the effort to line things up properly, then I'm sure the actual Star Trek fans running SNW can do their job properly.
Star Wars is also not meant to be our future. The aesthetic also holds up better then TOS.That's what I like about the star wars movies and tv shows. While they aren't all great they have the look of the universe right. They don't change things for the sake of change.
They're doing their job 100% fine. You just don't like what they're doing.then I'm sure the actual Star Trek fans running SNW can do their job properly.
They haven't even let me down yet with how it connects up! Give them a chance to film season 5 first, then we can properly discuss how disappointed we areThey're doing their job 100% fine. You just don't like what they're doing.

This will be a bit of a late comment but I still want to write. As an American production, yes Netflix has series that it cancels after two seasons, either because the viewing rates are low. Or they cannot agree with their producers on the budget. That is why Netflix has very few high budget series. Other than that, they continue to make series that break viewing records at first but then their viewing rates drop, each actor is popular on social media and becomes a famous movie star. But 'there' the issue ends with the producers and Netflix agreeing to reduce the budget. Apart from that, countries outside the US also cancel very few of their productions. Some last for 8 seasons. They also shoot series in Türkiye, they have only canceled 2-3 of them so far, 'they' also canceled the 1st and 2nd seasons, the rest lasted for 3-4 seasons and ended with a closed finale.Netflix is ruthless (most shows on Netflix don't last beyond two seasons).
I remember a post on Twitter saying that there should be a band called Cancelled After Two Seasons on Netflix.![]()
There is a youth TV series called Outer Banks which has been approved for a 5th and final season and is being considered for a spin-off, although the viewership has dropped significantly in the last season. The leading actors are all social media phenomena and the most popular actors have started acting in movies, for example: a terrible actress named Madelyn Cline. This will be a bit of a late comment but I still want to write. In short, let's say that Wednesday's viewings dropped. Given the engagement the series has received on social media and the fact that the lead actress Jenna Ortega is now a movie star, they are able to cut the budget and come to an agreement to continue. Similarly, we watched the third season of The Witcher and since the viewings started to drop in season 2, they cut the budget a lot in season 3. They cut the budget almost to the level of Amazon's The Rings of Power, the budget of Vikings, and then they fired the lead actress.

Yes, that is true. But SNW did not need to introduce Scotty or Kirk either. They could have transferred over to the Enterprise together. For that matter, they did not need Uhura or M’Benga or Chapel or Sam Kirk for the show either. But all of them were introduced in the first episode.they don’t have to do any of what you are listing
Star Wars has been more stagnant than Star Trek in its development of technology, but I reckon both franchises have done a good job of showing designs evolve over time.Star Trek is not Star Wars. Trek has always changed things for the sake of change and updating the looks.
The Y Wing is the best example. But Star Wars is not Star Trek nor should either attempt to be the other.Star Wars has been more stagnant than Star Trek in its development of technology, but I reckon both franchises have done a good job of showing designs evolve over time.

The look has changed, but not just for the sake of change. It shows the progress of technology, the passage of time, and the nature of the era that they're from. Like on the Star Wars side you can tell right away which ship comes from a more civilised age of peace and culture, and which ship comes from the point where the war-torn Republic was about to become an Empire.

My point being that SNW has a habit of showing us how the TOS legacy characters first met. So expecting to see astrophysist Sulu, cadet Chekov, a McCoy stationed on Capella IV, and Leila Kalomi’s romance with Spock don’t seem unreasonable. If anything, it’s expected.
That does not even touch on Boyce, Piper, Dehner and Gary Mitchell. Or a live action Sarah April. Maybe a younger Commodore Stone. The T’Pol guest appearance that’s been dreamed about by the fandom for years. Or smaller details such as the beehive hairstyle, men in skants, and Spock’s eyeshadow.
The show has put itself into this position. Are the producers hoping for Star Trek: Kirk or Star Trek Vanguard series to further explore the era?
