"what would you do"
One of my equipment reps I work with regularly actually emailed me yesterday about his passing. I was rather shocked to see how many in the office were as affected by the news of Stewart's death when I told them.An unexpected little Star Trek moment today after learning of Sir Patrick's passing.
Trek is something that largely stays in the online world for me. A few people know I'm a fan, but I rarely encounter it in everyday life, if ever.
Went out for a run this morning and, just as I was making my way down the street, heard "Make it so, Number One" from behind a fence.

And they didn't play the TNG theme because...?
I expect that they know most of the main beats and Giacchino's theme is copiously the TPS theme with different notes at certain points, the Kelvin refrain is incredibly memorable quickly as well. But I would have preferred they didn't do it rather than do this, which is actually a bit insulting....I'm guessing no one there actually watched Star Trek and just grabbed the first piece of music they found.
"Contagion", for introducing his love of archaeology and a damn good episode.I think I'm going to watch the Inner Light, Darmok, and Tapestry this weekend.
Any other suggestions?

Patrick Stewart would never surrender, And nor would Gurney or Xavier."what would you do"
My condolences. I'm watching as several friends fade away, and said goodbye to one of 23 years last Sunday, who went into home hospice and I'll never see again. It's crushing.Patrick Stewart dying was overshaded for me by one of my greatest real life role models, the mother of a childhood friend of mine, dying the same day.
There’s probably a bit more to it. I expect that it’s the piece of Star Trek music they had already arranged/rehearsed as part of their repertoire so they could stage the tribute in a timely manner.I'm thinking they just grabbed the sheet music for the end credits to the Kelvinverse movies and played that because that's exactly how it goes -- TOS theme, then Kelvinverse theme.
