Ongoing Community Discussion Thread

I've never seen anything like that, but successful show runners get interviewed. Ones who are viewed as failures try to distance themselves from that so they can get past it and get better jobs in the future.

Besides which, what would you really expect then to say? I'd imagine they'd point out the episodes they thought were good and not comment on the rest of them.

I guess Harmon's honesty spoils me and I wish more show runners were that open.

He's open because he was rehired, and is known for his attitude. The show runners of season 4 aren't going to talk about being fillers and then replaced by the guy they replaced. If I were them I would move on too.

I'm just curious whether the writers understood that when Pierce was convincing the focus group to dumb it down and sex it up, and Shirley was saying "Maybe the show's biggest fans like complicated storylines", the writers were intentionally talking about what happened to Community that season.

I can't wait. I think I will start doing my rewatch of Community now so I can be caught up ;) Of course I'll end up finishing all five seasons this month...

Took me a while to find this thread.

Sure we still have two weeks until the premiere, but I just read that tomorrow will be the premiere of the Season 6 trailer.

I'm sure that will give us something to talk about :D

If you have an Xbox 360 (or Xbox One) with a Gold subscription you can download the Yahoo Screen App and watch it on your TV. If watching it on the computer doesn't appeal to you.

Didn't the whole 'Six seasons and a movie' thing just start as a throwaway line in the fake clip show when Abed was talking about The Cape? When did the fans start using it about Community?

Two weeks? Nice.

Yes, that's when it first showed up, and it just kind of took off after that.

About 4 years ago shortly after that episode aired.

The funny thing is this is clearly the last season because most of the cast left, or are doing pilots this season. Of course they could do a 7th season and it just be Jeff and the dean with a whole new cast of students.

EDIT - So the trailer.... I thought they were going for more grounded episodes, it feels very weird to me.

Looks like Community to me :D

You have to keep in mind it's only 2 minutes out of a 13 episode season, and most of those 2 minutes are taken entirely out of context. For all we know all that wacky stuff takes place in one or two episodes.

Also, I lost it when Abed popped up and yelled "Bazinga!"

It hasn't been uploaded to youtube yet, so here's a link to the Screen Rant article that has it.

Edit: ok so it is on youtube, I just wasn't looking in the right place:

Joel has also screamed "6SEASONSANDAMOVIE!" at the camera on the Soup several times, especially during the times when Communities fate seemed uncertain and he brought in the Community cast week after week to help him with The Soup.

What?

You don't know what The Soup is?

(Okay, most of you knew, but I'm trying to bring phrasing back.)
