Like, I only watched the first season of Picard but my impression was that a lot of what people would have cared about in a post-Voyager setting ('90s pop optimism but in space) kinda got demolished by that show. And the stuff that drew people to that show (the return of the Enterprise-D crew) was not going to be around anymore, that was their big goodbye (though not "The Big Goodbye", that was in the '80s).
